Good Morning! Monday November 30, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's gray out, but a "soft" gray - not harsh and dark. It'll be low 60s today, cloudy, and probably rain by this afternoon. Lovely that it waited until after the holiday weekend! :)
Yesterday was a very busy day. It didn't turn out like I had hoped ... most of my expected guests, for various (good) reasons, were not able to come. So, I ended up cooking a big Thanksgiving dinner ... for my 2 step-sons. Who were late. LOL! We'll have LOTS of leftovers all week, which is not a bad thing.
Tonight I hope to work on adding ornaments to the trees, and also get back to some overdue sewing.

Good Morning! Sunday November 29, 2009

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear, and the forecast for today (unless it changed last night - I fell asleep, never heard it) is mostly clear and near 70! Lovely day, which is great, because there are outside things going on today!
We had a great, if short, trip. We celebrated Mama's birthday - Saturday we had cake and ice cream, played card games (which Mama loves to do!), a lovely visit. Mama and Daddy got to visit a bit with their great-grandchildren (my grands), which was nice for all of us. I always enjoy the family visits ... seems more and more so as I get older.
Today, which I originally thought would be resting and finishing up decorating, is going to be busy. Family is coming for a delayed Thanksgiving dinner (turkey is already in the oven); and more family coming to visit as well. I just love it! LOL!

Good Morning! Friday November 27, 2009

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear, though a bit chilly. Clouds are supposed to build back in by this afternoon, which is a good thing since we'll be traveling west!
Yesterday was cloudy and chilly, and a storm blew through last night with wind and rain (sadly, my big outdoor tree was a casualty of the wind ... hopefully I'll have help fixing it Sunday). I managed to have a lazy day and a productive day at the same time. I got all the things on my "to do" list done! Yay! I also watched a Christmas parade, a Christmas movie, and Sir Paul in New York. All in all, a very nice day. This morning I have a few chores to attend to, and this afternoon we're heading out to visit family. Today is Mama's birthday and tomorrow is a party. And, I won't have access to a computer in the morning ... y'all have a great weekend, I'll be back Sunday!

Good Morning! Happy Thanksgiving! Thursday, November 26, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful THANKSGIVING morning. It's very foggy out ... I can barely see past the end of my porch. But, that will dissapate eventually. Clouds will move in later, but mid 60s isn't bad!
I have a busy day planned; although I'm already "behind schedule"! LOL! But, I'll try to get done what I can. Today will be my only "free" day of the long holiday weekend. And, I'm watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade ... which will slow me down. But, I do love a parade! LOL! I just have "bits and pieces" to try to get finished up. Tomorrow we'll be taking a quick one night trip to celebrate Mama's birthday. And Sunday we will have our Thanksgiving dinner here (to avoid conflict with other families).
I hope each and every one of my readers has a very wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving (whether you are in the US or not).

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! Even though there are still some clouds lingering, I can see traces of brightness. By this afternoon it should be clearning. It'll be mild today, low 60s ... nice!

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still gray, but not pouring rain like yesterday. (we need the rain of course .. just not when I'm trying to get in and out of the car for work! LOL!). It's mild today, just like nearly Thanksgiving should be.
Last night we went to one of our favorite local places for dinner .... and I did nothing else (except watch Dancing With The Stars). Tonight I will be much busier. We have a dinner at work tomorrow, and I have to assemble my contribution. Well, I have to go to the grocery store first! LOL! And, the usual .. laundry, etc. And, while I haven't been watching the results show before, I think tonight I want to see who wins "Dancing". Hopefully, I will also find time to add a bit or two to my decorating; and reset some wacko timers! :)

Good Morning! Monday November 23, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's a bit overcast, but not raining at the moment (it rained during most of the night). It will be cool today ... so it starts to feel like Thanksgiving is nearly here! Only 3 more days. Wow.
Yesterday was a nice day. I got all of my dishes and laundry caught up. Then we had a lovely visit --though too short-- with a niece and her fiance. They did some target shooting in the (huge) back yard, and we had a nice visit. Of course, I had to bribe her with sausage dip to come (LOL!! kidding!!). After they left, we just vegged out with TV (yucky reruns), and the left over ham from Saturday night made great sandwiches! :) Tonight, we go out to dinner (30 years today ... hard to believe!!), and maybe I'll get a few more ornaments on the trees.

Good Morning! Sunday November 22, 2009

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear now, although they say a front will be moving through later, leading to possible rain by tonight. It's a bit cooler now; but it *should* be in late November! LOL!
We got all of the important things done yesterday ... and I could NOT have finished without my young friend who helps me! There's only one tree still to go up, but it can't go up until everything has gone up and down the stairs. All the trees up have lights and at least some ornaments. The house is reasonably clean (well, I did vacuum!! LOL!!) My gathering of friends for dinner and lights went well, and I'm so glad they all came. My friend's 2 year old grandson was so much fun (I have lots of stuffed toys that make noise!!)
Today will be much more relaxing. I have a few things I must do, but only a bare minimum. I will have more company, but they're mostly coming to see DH for some outdoor activity (although I may watch, just for fun).

Good Morning! Friday November 20, 2009

Good morning! It's a gorgeous morning! It's bright out my window, and nearly clear (a little morning mist left, but it's quickly disapating). It's going to be mid 60s, sunny, less humid - just a wonderful fall day!
Yesterday's rain didn't start until I was on the way home. So, I came home to a lovely surprise ... since the rain had held off, my friend came over and almost completely finished the outside decorations! I am SO excited, I just love the way everything looks. I wish I could take a good night-time picture. So, anyone that can, come visit ... everyone else, use your imagination! LOL!

Good Morning! Thursday November 19, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It's still cloudy, but it'll be a fairly warm (nearly 70) day. We might even have thunder storms this afternoon ... very odd this time of year. Sadly, the weatherguy says it's not *really* (or even pretend) winter, so thunder won't be a sign of snow coming! LOL!
I got a lot done last night. I didn't have help (weather too yucky out), but I did pretty good on my own (for a change! LOL!). I got several areas straightened out, a few boxes emptied, and just in general things are looking better. Tonight I should have help, and I think we'll get a lot done (even working around some of my favorite TV shows! :) )

Good Morning! Wednesday November 18, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It's a bit overcast, but not so chilly as I thought it would be. It might rain. It might not. LOL!
Last night was running errands. We picked up my friend, and got to 3 different stores (drooling over decorations, of course! LOL! But not buying them). We ate at Chik-Fil-A, and I finally got one of their peppermint-chocolate chip shakes (they were out every time I tried to get one last year). Oh my!! They are SO good, I'm surprised they're legal!!! We got home late and very tired.
Tonight the (inside) big tree will get finished going up and lit. A few other things need to be done, but that's primary. The rest is just "finishing touches" (like decorating the trees! LOL!) It'll get done ... because where ever I stop, it's done! :)

Good Morning! Tuesday November 17, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. In true fall style, the temps have dropped again, and it'll be cloudy. But, it's only low 60s, not really "cold" yet. We may or may not get more rain, and that's ok too. :)
I pushed myself to get busy last night. I finished putting away laundry, cleared the pile of boxes in the living room, and actually have a big pile to take upstairs tonight. Every time I walked by a tree I added an ornament or two! LOL!
Tonight I may take a friend to run errands, or I may continue on emptying boxes and taking upstairs. Or both. I'll have to see how the evening goes; but it all needs to be done..... there are 5 days until I have company coming, and ....
...... 37 days left until Christmas!

Good Morning! Monday November 16, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. There's bright sunshine spilling across the back yard, and most of the early fog has burned off. It's going to be clear and low 70s, a lovely fall day. Perhaps the last for awhile ... although the cooler weather is ok with me. I just have a hard time with the gray days. Oh well, we need them too! :)
We (meaning my friend who worked 4 times as much as I did!!) all worked so hard yesterday. Not everything on the list got done ... but .... a lot of the "major" items got done. The front of my house looks just amazing!! And, it's still got some embellishing coming. The 2 big trees are started (need more lights to continue), and most of the other trees are in place. I got started on some of the smaller things (like nutcrackers). The "children" brought boxes down for me. Once I get them emptied and the rooms cleared again, I'll be about 90% done! Nights this week will be busy. :)
There are 38 days left until Christmas!

Good Morning! Sunday November 15, 2009

Good morning! It is a beautiful morning. There's a layer of spooky looking fog hovering just off the ground, but it's very bright. I'm sure the sun will be out soon. Yesterday by late afternoon all the clouds had moved out; today is supposed to be clear and warm, mid-70s. Perhaps today we'll be able to finish the outside stuff. There are several things we'd like to do, but only one that is "critical" in terms of what's already up. That will be easy though, and I believe we'll get that done.
Yesterday was very busy, with a lot of unexpected events. We did get a lot done, even though most of it was "embellishing" what we already had up. It's all good. :) Last night a little friend (step-son's girlfriend's son, age 11) spent the night so he can ride to the coast today with DH. That meant there were 6 of us for dinner ... that was a challenge! LOL! Anyway, I'm hoping we get a lot done today.

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It's still gray, but not rainy and not so cold. It's still windy, but that will be subsiding by afternoon. Very soon the sun will come back out, and we can begin to dry out again. The ground is still pretty soggy, but by afternoon we should be able to do some of the outside things that need to be done.
I didn't get very much done last night (seems I rarely do on Friday); but this morning I could sleep later, so I'm all rested up (well, sort of! LOL!) and ready to get busy and finish the decorating.

Good Morning! Friday November 13, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It's still gray and windy, but the system is on it's way out. By the weekend the weather will start being clear and warm again. Today, low 50s and maybe still some rain. That's ok too, this is no longer the "driest year on record"!
I only got one small box down last night (but did take empty boxes up). It was packed full of small items, all of which have been unpacked and placed where they belong! And, some of the decorations went up on a (small) tree. So, progress. There's a good chance I will have lots of help this weekend, so I'm hoping to considerably shorten my long "to do" list! LOL!
Tonight ... I have no idea what we'll do; maybe just rest up and get an early start tomorrow! :)

Good Morning! Thursday November 12, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! We're getting lots and lots of much needed rain. Of course, I'd be ok with a bit less wind! LOL! But, it's not like I have a choice, right? :) I have seen news reports of trees and power lines down, but there's been nothing that severe around here. I have 2 large camelia bushes on the outside corners of my room, and it sounds like the wind is much worse than it is when the scrape the siding! LOL! But, it's all good.
I did a little better last night: I finished a project I had been putting off because I couldn't decide what to do with it (bathroom curtain). I finally made up my mind that *something* would be better than nothing! LOL! So, they're done. And I got one box unpacked; and I got 2 loads of laundry done.
Tonight I *plan* to re-straighten the guest room, and get one more box down. Tonight is also the 3rd night of the CSI trilogy, so will have to find something in "my room" to work on. :)

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! OK, it's a chilly and WET morning .. which is wonderful because we need rain. At the moment, it's very windy, and my driveway is now a moat. Driving to work will be an adventure! LOL!
Last night I didn't exactly tackle what I expected to, but I was productive. I decided I couldn't stand my cluttered desk and sewing table any more, and cleaned them off. Wow, this is better! :) I did do a bit of decorating; but I'll probably undo what I did, so not sure it it counts. Tonight I will try to get more done. I know I'll get much more accomplished over the weekend than after work, but I need to keep trying.

Good Morning! Tuesday November 10, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. We're going to get rain! They're saying this has been the driest year on record for NC ... hard to believe; but you can't argue with statistics! LOL! It's starting out a bit gray, and the forecast is for mid 60s and probably light rain by afternoon. Not much outside stuff will get done this week. The time changed while I was on vacation, so it was sort of a surprise to realize I'm now driving home from work in the dark!
I only managed to get one box down last night; but that's better than nothing. I think tonight I may have to get some of my nutcrackers .. just for the fun of seeing at least one room come together! LOL! Also tonight, I hope to clear off my sewing table ... it's gotten so piled with "stuff" I can't even see the table; and I am not happy with that. I need to get the guest room better organized too. I'm SO good at plans ... just need to actually DO them! :)

Good morning! It is a beautiful morning! This lovely un-fall-like weather is hanging in here ... bright and sunny, and going up to mid 70s today. I wonder if this is "Indian Summer"? Whatever, it's gorgeous weather!
Yesterday I was a bit on the lazy side. My friend was not able to come over, Jimmy went to the coast for most of the day, and I had the house to myself. I did a lot of laundry, and a lot of sorting and organizing. The living room is mostly cleared of clutter again, and the dining room table has only what we're currently working with.

Good Morning! Sunday November 8, 2009

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear out, and I believe will be quite warm, mid 70s. Very much on the warmer side of "normal" for this time of year, but great for getting the last of outside things done before cooler weather is back to stay.
I had a wonderful --though too short-- visit with my parents. We spent all of Friday afternoon with Mama; and we took Daddy over on Saturday and stayed until late afternoon. I'm looking forward to going back again in a few weeks (for Mama's birthday), and seeing more family then.
It was not too awfully late when we got home, so I am pretty well rested ... and have a lot to finish up today. Sadly, I must return to work tomorrow! LOL! Today I will try to get things cleared and organized, so that I will know what I need to work on in the evenings after work. Yesterday was a gorgeous day, and we spent most of it getting outside decorations done. We kept changing our mnds as we went, but I'm very happy with the end result. I did resist the temptation to go ahead and turn the lights on! LOL!

Yesterday we got a lot done. I got several errands done before picking up my friend, and we really worked hard. We have most of the inside trees, except the big one up, "fluffed", and lit. One is decorated, but mostly I'm holding off on that to get things in place first.
A lot of other "little" things got done too ... it was a busy day. We were SO tired! LOL!
Today it starts again. I don't know if my friend will be here today or not, but I will get done what I can either way. It's getting so exciting to have those trees in place! :)

Good Morning! Wednesday November 4, 2009

Good morning! It's a lovely morning and going to be another beautiful day. It's cooler than yesterday, low 60s, but bright and sunny.
Yesterday "we" (meaning my friend! LOL!) got the pump cleaned, and now the little pond has it cheerful little fountain back. I'm sure the fish are as happy as I am! :) We didn't have as much work time yesterday, because of errands that had to be taken care of; but we got a few things done anyway. We should have all day today, so will see how much we can get done. I've got a semi-schedule to go by; but we aren't sticking to it very closely. It doesn't matter as long as we end up where we want to be!

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The sun is shining, and it will be warmer today. I think we may re-arrange the plans, and try for some outside stuff this afternoon ... seems a warm sunny day is rare right now! I'll happily change the sequence of what needs to be done to take advantage of it.
Yesterday we got a lot done. Curtains are up, plants are in, table covers are on, and the first layer of decorating has begun. And I was SOOOO tired last night! LOL! But, a good night's sleep (and getting to sleep late!), and I'm ready to start again.

Good Morning! Monday November 2, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still cloudy, and we still need rain! :) It's a bit cool ... but after all, winter is on the way, and cool (60s) isn't so bad. Besides, cooler is better when there's a lot of work to be done! LOL!
I got a lot done yesterday. I'd have gotten more done if my friend had been able to come help; but I'll go get her today. I can't wait to see how much we're able to accomplish.
This morning I'm going to take that report by the office, then go pick up my friend. We'll make a quick grocery store stop, and then back here to see how much mischief we can create! LOL!

Good Morning! Sunday November 1, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. That extra hour of sleep was LOVELY! LOL! Right now, it's pouring rain ... which is a good thing. We need this "real" rain, not the misty stuff we've had for so long. I think it's supposed to clear up by this afternoon, and be mid 70s.
Yesterday was a busy day. I did get some laundry and other "routine" things done. We spent most of the day out and about, running errands. Jimmy had to refill a few meds; I needed printer ink. We picked up my friend and her son, and went to Michaels. Even without any spending money, a craft supply store is fun. So many ideas!! Then last night I finished the report I needed for work.
Today I have a very long "to do" list, though I don't know that I'll get to it all. Today is for clearing out fall decor, recleaning all those blank surfaces, and starting with the first layer (fabric) of my decorating. Clearly nothing will get done outside! LOL! I will have to get out some though. I'm hoping my friend can come help for awhile; I need to run by the grocery store; and hopefully I can take that completed report by my boss's house later.

Today is "All Saints' Day (Catholic)" ... "All Hallows Day" ... "Daylight Savings Time Ends - Standard Time Resumes" ... "National Authors' Day" ... "National Family Literacy Day" ...
