Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. I'm up too early ... have plans for the day, although right now I don't even know for sure how the day will unfold. It doesn't matter, we'll get done what we need to. Eventually! LOL! I'm really not sure what the forecast is for today ... it seems to change hourly. It's a bit damp and gray now; I think it might be heading for partly cloudy and warm. They're saying rain tonight, but it should hold off until after all the little "goblins" are safely home.
Last night I did a little work on a report I brought home (even though I'm on vacation now, the report needs to be done by Monday!); and worked on clearing a few "hot spots". This morning I've got laundry started, working on the report some, and getting a list for today organized. Later we'll be running some errands - groceries, medicines, craft supplies. I hope to get all the "running around" done so tomorrow I can stay home (probably rainy) and get busy.

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It's another see-saw fall day - back to cloudy and mild (upper 60s). There may or may not be some drizzle. But, it's Friday! :)
Yesterday was a very up and down day, some issues to deal with, and Jimmy got some repairs done to the car (no more wobble! yay!)
Today at work we're having a "party" (brunch ... we love any excuse to bring food! LOL!) for a lady who is retiring. Lucky lady!!!
By tonight - I'm "free" for 9 days! I have SO much I want to get done - I hope I have enough time. :)

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It appears the clouds have moved on by (leaving very little of the predicted rain), and today will be mild (around 70), mostly sunny, and breezy. This is true lovely fall weather.
Yesterday I had a nice experience. I went, with a friend, to a "Pink Tea". This is an event my employer put on in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The old office was fixed up very nicely, wonderful refreshments (including, of course, choices of hot or iced tea), they even had some very classy door prizes. A nurse from the local hospital gave a talk about breast cancer: awareness, diagnosing, and also clarified a lot of the myths. It was a well spent lunch hour.
Last night the only thing I accomplished was to sort through my stash of Christmas fabrics to find what I need for a swap project. I will need to work on that this weekend, as well as get started on decorating. Tonight I hope to get the first stage - cutting - done, as well as some cutting done for my current projects (that I'm way behind on!!).

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. So far it's very gray, but they say it will clear by this afternoon. In a dramatic contrast to yesterday's chilly drizzle, today will be in the upper 70s, sunny and breezy.
Last night I finished the Christmas sewing project ... I think. I might change my mind and "fix" it some more! LOL! Meantime, tonight it's catch up laundry, then see what sewing projects to work on. There are so many! :)

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still gray out ... morning is coming later and later; but I think it'll be a mostly cloudy day anyway. We'll be in the mid 60s again, with rain and drizzle. They're saying this is one of the driest years ever ... I'm amazed at that. So, bring on the rain! :)
I didn't get a lot done last night, but I did make an effort to be just a bit more productive. I worked some more on a small project ... some Christmas sewing I need to do and had forgotten about! Oops. LOL! I'm really hoping to dredge up a bit more energy, and finish that project and do a few more, get laundry caught up (again), get at least one more batch of cookie dough in the freezer, and start taking some things upstairs that are in the way. I'd like to have all of that done by the weekend, so I start decorating with a "clean slate". Sort of. :) All I need is to find that extra energy!

Good morning! It's a lovely fall morning. The temps have dropped quite a bit since the weekend, and it will only be in the mid 60s today. That's still not so bad. It's a mostly grayish morning, and might be showery later; but they're still saying we need the rain, so it's all goodl. :) I still have flowers blooming (that don't know it isn't summer any more! LOL!) ... my little pond garden is a riot of color right now! Most of my mums are covered with blooms, plus there's marigolds and camelias and some other things I don't even know names of.
Yesterday was mostly lazy, recovering from Saturday! LOL! I did get laundry caught up; and I did a few very small organizing projects. I even got a few steps done on a small sewing project. Hopefully the rest of this week I can get sewing done, and a few small things "out of the way". Next week is decorating week!! :)

My Day at the Fair
This week was originally scheduled as a "catch up" week. But, since I managed to stay fairly well on schedule, I gave myself (another) playday. My friend and I went to the NC State Fair. I don't think I've been to the Fair for close to 30 years! My family always went when we were kids ... a few rides, a few games, some cotton candy. As a "grown-up" (yes, by some people that's questionable ... but sometimes I have fun! LOL!) I'm not at all interested in the rides or games. Jimmy isn't especially interested in the exhibits (a few, but not all); and in any case, he couldn't last more than an hour, tops, and would have to sit down to wait. And my friend's dad and son are both only interested in the rides, and have no patience for her to go through exhibits. So, we went. We had no one wanting to drag us off this way or that; no one bored with what we wanted to see. We had SO MUCH FUN!! I picked her up close to 10 am, and we drove to Raleigh (about 45 minutes), and parked the car. We rode a bus to the fairgrounds, and were there by 11:30. We went through every exhibit building ... arts and crafts of every imaginable kind; we saw all the animals (sadly, not allowed to pet any of them); we saw fabulous gardens (and got caught in the rain!). We ate deep fried Reese Cups (like a Reese Cup tucked inside a doughnut ... wonderful!); and chocolate covered bacon ("Pig Lickers" ... much much better than it sounds); homemade ice cream. We ate huge sloppy sandwiches (steak and cheese for me, polish sausage for her) for dinner, and brought home candy apples, caramel apples, and fudge! (oh, and some Moravian stars that can hang or be used as candle holders). I got an autograph from one of the local weathermen (my 2nd favorite, Mike, after Greg who wasn't there).We roamed back and forth several times ... ducking inside buildings during showers, and strolling around in between (or when it was only a light sprinkle). By shortly after 8:00 we had seen everything there was to see, and decided we were too tired to wait another hour for fireworks.We took the bus back to the car, and headed home. On the way home we had the only "negative" incident of the whole day (well, aside from the batteries in my camera dieing!). The car in front of us braked suddenly, then pulled over. I was going very slow, trying to figure out why it stopped; meantime a car came from the other direction. In it's headlights, Andrea spotted something in the road. I thought it was a deer - fortunately, going slow enough to pull off behind the first car. It was NOT a deer!! She had hit a man who had apparently darted out in front of her! The poor lady was histerical!! I had my cell in my hand and had already dialed 911 when I realized that a man (don't even know where he came from) was beside the road and already talking to Rescue. Several people stopped, and at one point they were giving him CPR. After a few minutes, I realized that the situation was under control, Rescue was on the way, and I was probably in the way. With some help from other people around, I managed to back up enough to get back on the road and on my way. We passed the First Responders and Police on their way to the scene. I was a bit shaken, but the rest of the way home was thankfully uneventful!
