Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still a bit overcast, but not dark and gloomy looking. We're still, like the rest of the country apparently, in a deep freeze. High today to be mid 30s ... which may not be as cold as a lot of my friends; but it sure is cold for NC, and for MY house! LOL! We've been blessed though, no storms and no power outages.
Last night ... I really didn't do anything once again. It's a bit chilly inside (conserving gas). This morning I'm off to a slow start, but once I get busy I know I'll warm up. I hope to try to get the upstairs room clean and organized today, and start bringing down the boxes to pack away decorations. And I think a few of the trees may go upstairs today. I had a funny thought about that. Perhaps I'll put some of them near the windows, and leave them plugged into timers for a few more months! LOL! Wouldn't be seen from inside; but it would make the house a bit more cheerful to drive up to at night! :)

Good Morning! Friday January 7, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still overcast, but the forecast calls for some of it to blow away. It's very cold and windy ... and DRY! No, we did NOT get the promised snow. At least, not around my house. (disappointment!). Well, at least the roads are safe. Hopefully we only have a few more days of the super cold (for here), and it will start getting closer to "normal".
I did finally get most of the laundry put up last night. Nothing like the promise of someone stopping by for impetus! LOL! A friend came by to see all the trees (and other stuff), so that was a nice little visit. After that, though ... Thursday has some of my favorite shows. :)
Tonight I *might* have someone else come by. It will be the last chance, as this weekend, sadly, I will start taking down Christmas decorations (and replacing with winter).
Today is "National Joygerm Day" ... "Saint Gudula Feast Day (Christian)" ... "Show & Tell Day at Work" ... "Midwife's Day/Women's Day (Greece)".

Good Morning! Thursday January 7, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear, and may actually go to the low 40s. Clouds will be moving in this afternoon; and just north of me they're predicting possibly up to an inch of snow. I know that is nothing in a lot of areas ... but it's a big deal here! LOL! Or at least it would be ... if I got to see any of it. That doesn't seem likely.
I had another night of getting nothing done. It looks like until this super cold snap is gone I won't get a lot accomplished ... trying to conserve the heating gas means lowering the thermostat and bundling up more. Best excuse I ever had! LOL!
Tonight I do have to deal with some laundry; but other than that, it's a good TV night. :)

Good Morning! Tuesday January 5, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It will be another cold day here ... apparently as is most of the nation. Or at least the east coast! According to the local weather guru, we're in the middle of the longest cold spell in 30 years. But .. no snow. For *some* of us, that is NOT a good thing! LOL!
Last night I did manage to get laundry caught up. Well, washed and dried. :) Tonight I hope to get it all put away. I do tend to try to stay in the warmer rooms in the house (duh!), but I hope to do a bit of decluttering. The decorations will start coming down this weekend, but there are still a few people who might want to see them before that.

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's clear and very cold, and will be mostly sunny today. And still cold! :) We came home last night from our weekend visiting to find my little pond already frozen over. It is funny to see water spraying out of the top of a little ice mountain! LOL!
We had a very nice visit with family. One of my goals for this year is to spend more time with family ... all 4 generations! For now, though, the next "project" will be getting the upstairs room cleaned before packing up Christmas decorations. And before that happens, it's catch up laundry time!

Good Morning! Friday January 1, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's gray and cold here ... BUT ... it's the start of a brand new year and a brand new decade! That's exciting - there are so many possibilities out there. I long since gave up making "New Year's Resolutions" ... they were usually unattainable, and never kept. So this year I am setting goals. If I don't reach them, I won't feel like I've failed. Instead, some may take longer than others to accomplish. I have goals to finish some of my started quilting projects; but that depends on getting my sewing machine running properly again. I have goals of getting better at remembering family birthdays and anniversaries (which is a gola I have never fully reached, but will keep trying), and also spending more time with family. That one starts today, leaving this afternoon for a weekend with my DB & DSIL, and my parents. (and, again, I won't have computer access - someday I'm going to get one of those card thingys! LOL! - so there may not be a newsletter for Saturday and Sunday). I also have goals for some closet and cabinet cleaning. If I can stick to a schedule, I can do those. If not - I'll finish next year. Or the next. LOL!
For today, I have to go finish laundry and pack; and bake a cake (Joyce - don't tell Pat - it's a surprise! LOL!). We plan to be on the road by mid afternoon, and be there to visit a bit with Mama by after dinner tonight.
I hope every one of my readers has a good New Year's Day, and I wish you all the best of everything life has to offer in the coming year!
Today is "New Years Day" ... "Circumcision of Christ (Christian)" ... "New Year's Dishonor List" ... "St. Basil's Day (E. Orthodox)" ... "Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God (Roman Catholic)" ...
