Memorial Day

I freely admit to being sloppily sentimental over anything military. And "freely" is the operative word here. I can write a blog and say what I please because brave men and woment have been - are - will be "out there" protecting that right.
I can't say that I do much actively to support the military. I'm always looking for something to do ... but quite selfishly, I don't want to do something (whatever it turns out to be) annonymously, for some strange random soldier who will never really know who at home is supporting him/her.
I would enjoy exchanging mail (e- or snail) with a soldier (using the word generically to represent anyone in the military). I would love to make friends with someone (or maybe even several) who don't have family. OK, let's face it, I'd adopt more "kids"! LOL! Someone to make pillow cases (and eventually a quilt) for; to bake cookies for; to send care packages of toothpaste and gum and socks to.
But, until such time as I find a way to do that, I will settle for saying loudly and clearly to anyone who will (or won't) listen: GOD BLESS AMERICAN & HER GLORIOUS MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN, PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE!!

Look in the middle under "Announcements" and you'll see a section where you can get information on how to "Adopt a Soldier"
