Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. Yesterday's rain stopped by late afternoon, but will be back again by this afternoon. Today will be low 50s. While that's below "normal", it's not too bad; and we really need all this lovely rain!
Yesterday: It was a very lazy day! I did spend a few minutes off and on trying to clear the clutter out of the guest room; and I worked on my sewing project. But, mostly, I watched TV, played on the computer, and just goofed off. :) It was a gray day, and just felt like a good "do nothing" day!
Today: I will have to make up for yesterday. After taking DH to dialysis, I will (again) stop by the Sprint store, and then do grocery shopping. Hopefully I'll have time to do a few things around the house before going back to pick up DH. I don't even remember what's on TV tonight, except the AI results show. I'm sure I'll find *something*! LOL!

Good Morning! Wednesday March 30, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It got chilly again ... today will only be upper 40s; and wet. Another system is moving through, and it's rainy this morning. The forecast says it will "taper off", but be back again by afternoon. As long as it's not freezing, all this lovely rain is a great benefit to all the new spring flowers and leaves and such. Since we're technically in a drought, the more rain the better!
Yesterday: It turned out to be a busier day than I expected. The plumber showed up in the morning, not long before we were supposed to leave for dialysis. I got a friend to come stay at the house while we were gone. Good thing, as the plumber ended up having to replace the whole pipe instead of just patching it. Then my friend and I went to lunch, and a bit of "retail therapy". :) I took her back home, ran one more errand, and then brought DH home. It was a quiet evening, but I did put in a bit more work on the fabric cutting. I didn't end up watching the results show ... NCIS trumped that! LOL!
Today: The visiting nurse comes this morning, so I had to put away all my fabric cutting mess again. I think today's project might be cleaning the guest room, so I can put up a cardtable in there and leave it - I'd be happier with the living room staying neat anyway. Otherwise, it's a gray day and I'll have a hard time pushing myself to get anything done. It's a good day for daydreaming ... anyone out there want to come to my house for a tea party?? :)
Today is "Doctor's Day" ... "Grass is Always Browner on the Other Side of the Fence Day" ... "Anniversary - Pencil Patent".

Good Morning! Tuesday March 29, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The sun is back out, and it will go to a very seasonable mid 60s today. We did end up getting right much rain, but not "enough". I think there's another system headed our way in a few days.
Yesterday: We got a very early start, and of course had "rush hour" traffic. It was raining, even sleeting a little; and I *might* have seen a snowflake or two. We got to the clinic on time anyway, and the appointment didn't take long at all. It was the nephrologist, and turns out DH doesn't need to go to him anymore since he's seeing doctors at the dialysis center. We were home by noon. I had a brief spurt of energy, and got some dishes and laundry done ... and then fizzled! LOL! I finished the "first stage" of a sewing project, but that's all I got done. I had a hard time staying awake enough to watch Dancing.
Today: It's a dialysis day, so coming and going at odd times. Plus, the plumber called and is on his way ... awkward, but nothing I can do about it. He may only look at the leaky pipe to determine what he needs, and come back later. At least, that's what I'm hoping! LOL! Other than that, I will go by the Sprint store - again - but no other plans. Tonight I'll work on the sewing project, and watch the Dancing results show (I don't especially enjoy results shows ... just want to kow who goes home! LOL!).
Today is "Knights Of Columbus Founders Day" ... "National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day" ... "Texas Love the Children's Day (Tx)" ... "Commemoration Day (Madagascar)" ... "Youth Day (Taiwan)".

Good Morning! Sunday March 27, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's very gray, wet, and chilly .. a good "do nothing" day! LOL! It's only going to low 50s today; but they say the rain will ease off by afternoon. I'm sure the gardens are quite happy for the rain; and maybe it's time for the grass to start growing. I suspect this might be the "last gasp" of winter ... much better than the snow we've had in years past! :)
Yesterday: We ended up having a very busy day. I always rush around in the am on dialysis days. I went to pick up a friend, and then we took DH to town. While he was there, we grabbed a quick lunch and a quick trip to the grocery store. Once we came back here we both got busy. She finished tilling in the yard (before the rain started) where gardens are planned, and I got the cleaning done inside I needed to do. I even got trash to the dump again (yay!) before I picked up DH. We treated ourselves to subs (can get his made and stay within diet restrictions!). I even got a bit of work done on one of my sewing projects!
Today: It's hard to focus on a "to do" list on such a gray cay, but I do have a few things I hope to tackle. I have a few small cleaning projects, and will work on the sewing projects some more. And I'll try hard to resist wrapping up in a quilt and napping all day! LOL!
Today is "Education and Sharing Day" ... "Summer Daylight Savings Time (Europe)" ... "Summer Time (UK)" ... "Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day" ... "Anniversary - Funky Winkerbean".

Good Morning! Saturday March 26, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's overcast, and much cooler. It will probably only be low to mid 50s today, and rain by later this afternoon. I'll be glad for the rain .. though I hope it is MUCH later in the afternoon! LOL!
Yesterday: It was a fairly busy day, although a lot of things I expected did not happen. None of the home health care workers came. The friend who looked at my TV couldn't fix it, so it may have to go back. The tiller did show up, right before dark; but the garden is done! Yay! I also did a lot of work in the house, including re-organizing the pantry and 2 big cabinets.
Today: It's a dialysis day, and I'm already running late this morning. However, other than transporting back and forth, mostly I want to try to finish household cleaning I didn't finish yesterday. Oh, and I got everything out and ready to start working on a sewing project again, finally! :)

Quotes of the Day:
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
-- Anonymous
'love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness."
-- Trey Parker and Matt Stone
"Almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."

Everyone have a Great Saturday!
Today is "Earth Hour" ... "Legal Assistants Day" ... "Make Up Your Own Holiday Day" ... "National Cherry Blossom Festival" ... "Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianole Day" ... "Independence Day " ... "(Bangladesh)".
-- Steve Jobs
"God doesn't require us to succeed; He only requires that you try."
-- Mother Teresa

Good Morning! Friday March 25, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's cloudy right now, and there's a good chance of rain coming today or tomorrow. We can sure use some rain! It's a bit cooler, low 60s, which still isn't "cold"! This may well be the last few days of being cool enough for occasional chances of frost ... and then growing things will really jump!
Yesterday: It was a busy day, trying to fit things to be done around dialysis times. But, everything on my "to do" list got done, so it was a reasonably "productive" day. And, I was able to settle down long enough to watch the results show.
Today: Today I hope to get some actual house cleaning done. First thing this morning, we're waiting for the visiting nurse to show up, and also for the friend who hopefully can fix the TV. Then it's on to getting things back in order ... and I'm trying very hard to schedule in some sewing time. :)
And ... for those of you interested ... Christmas is NINE MONTHS from today! Will you be ready??? Will I??? LOL!
Today is "Feast of Annunciation (Catholic)" ... "Old New Year's Day" ... "Pecan Day" ... "Schmeckfest" ... :Tolkien Reading Day" ... :UN International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade" ... "Maryland Day (Maryland)" ... "Independence Day (Greece)".

Good Morning! Thursday March 24, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The forecast is for partly cloudy, but for now it's clear and bright. It will be about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday (which is still around 70, not bad at all!), and still very windy. The yard work is still pending (waiting on unreliable transportation for equipment .. what can you do? LOL!). It won't be long now before the inside plants can start going out.
Yesterday: The nurse came early in the morning; and then no one else came. The PT was supposed to come around lunch time ... later in the evening we found out he was sick. Oh well. I spent part of the afternoon roaming around the yard with a friend, deciding where different trees and shrubs should be planted. I also cooked some chickens in my roaster (with the back door opened, the whole yard smelled good! LOL!), so now have that in the freezer. Last night I got to watch AI (though still not in color).
Today: It's a dialysis day, so we'll be leaving soon and not be back until late afternoon. I do have an appointment in the afternoon, and also will go by the Sprint store ... again. :)
Today is "Houdini Day" ... "St. Gabriel Feast Day" ... "World Tuberculosis Day" ... "Independence Day (Philippines)".
Quotes of the Day:
"The opportunity for brotherhood presents itself every time you meet a human being."
-- Jane Wyman
"Estimated amount of glucose used by an adult human brain each day, expressed in M&Ms: 250"

Good Morning! Wednesday March 23, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It started out clear, but is clouding up quickly. No rain is *due* until late tonight; meantime, we get one more abnormally warm day, low 80s, and it will be very windy. The garden still hasn't been plowed, so not sure if it will be a good day for that or not ... it may just depend on if the equipment (tiller) gets here today or not! :)
Yesterday: One more dialysis day done. I got several errands and an appointment done, and then the evening was just relaxing.
Today: I don't know if gardening will get done today or not. I do hope to get some cooking done, and work on sorting piles of paperwork. Oh yeah, and I guess maybe I should tackle the **shudder** dreaded taxes! LOL!
Today is "Liberty Day" ... "National Puppy Day" ... "Near Miss Day" ... "UN World Meteorological Day" ... "Republic Day (Pakistan)".

Good Morning! Tuesday March 22, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! Again, the forecast is for partly cloudy, but it's starting out beautifully clear. Today will be mid 80s, possibly another record high. Strange for the past year how man "record" temps there have been. I think it'll still be breezy (at my house, it's nearly always windy!), but still a good day for gardening to get done.
Yesterday: It was an odd day. Some people showed up as expected; but it was mostly earlier or later or not at all. Since the day started with the visiting nurse coming early, I didn't try to get involved in any projects. I just kept up with "the usual" (laundry, dishes, meals). I did keep the house fairly reasonably neat. I also let the kitty out of the kitchen for the day, since not so many surfaces had things for her to break. She had a glorious time racing around! LOL! The therapist came much later than expected; one person came by for a short visit; and 2 other people expected weren't able to get here.
Today: Today is a dialysis day, so we won't be home a good chunk of the day. I have an appointment in the afternoon; and I also plan to go by and find out why my new data card isn't working; and I have questions about my phone. Today will be a day for asking a lot of questions of a lot of people! LOL! While I'm out for the afternoon, someone is coming by to start getting the garden area tilled up so we can start planting soon. Yay! :)
Today is "American Diabetes Association Alert Day" ... "As Young As You Feel Day" ... "International Day of the Seal" ... "International Goof Off Day" ... "UN World Day for Water" ... "Emancipation Day (Puerto Rico)" ... "New Years Day (India)".
Quotes of the Day:
"Those who speak most of progress measure it by quantity and not by quality."
-- George Santayana
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
-- Sir Winston Churchill
"People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."
-- Soren Kierkegaard
I apologize for no history and birthdays today. The site I usually use appears to have acquired a virus, so I'm staying away from it for a bit. Usually I can *copy* from last year ... but for some unknown reason, there was no newsletter on this date last year! Hopefully by tomorrow things will be back to "normal"! :)

Good Morning! Monday March 21, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The forecast for today was mostly to partly cloudy ... but after a bit of an overcast start, it's clear and bright now. It will be mid 70s today, and only a slight chance of a sprinkle. I hope we'll get some rain later in the week ... but nice to have lovely days first to start getting garden prepped!
Yesterday: It was mostly a very lazy day. I had to go out to run some quick errands, but that didn't take long. The person I was hoping would come help with TV issues never came. I did manage to get most of the rest of the Christmas stuff packed and moved upstairs. I didn't do as organized a job this year; but we had *issues*! LOL! It's OK, it's done.
Today: Today has started out busy already. The visiting nurse came early (well, 8:45 - early for us! LOL!); and while she was here, the truck came with a load of good topsoil for the garden. Later the therapist will come to work with DH on some strength exercises. And, at some point today 2 different friends are planning to come by. And, on top of all that, the TV helping person *might* come tonight. I don't think I'll plan on getting any cleaning done today! LOL! At least I have a roast in the crockpot, that'll help. :)
Today is "Memory Day" ... "UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination" ... "Canberra Day (Australia)" ... "Noruz (Nauroze) [Iranian/Persian New Year]" ... "Independence Day (Namibia)" ... "Human Rights Day (South Africa)".

Good Morning! Sunday March 20, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The forecast says mostly cloudy, but right now it's clear and bright, sunshine pouring in my window. It will be a little cooler today, "only" mid to upper 60s. It'll still be a good day to get outside some in the afternoon.
Yesterday: It was a fairly busy day, and a bit better in that we got home after dialysis quicker. I did a bit of shopping during the afternoon, and picked up a new phone - now I just have to learn how to use it! LOL! I also got (finally) a data-card for the computer; but it isn't activated yet. One step at a time!
Today: This is the only day of the week without either going to dialysis or having someone (nurses and/or therapists) coming here. I hope to finish getting boxes upstairs, give the kitchen a good cleaning, and finish up a little bit of laundry. I also hope to get in the yard during the afternoon, maybe get DH out there walking around a bit. :)
Today is "Great American Meatout" ... "Kiss Your Fiance Day" ... "National Agriculture Day" ... "National Jump Out! Day" ... "Proposal Day" ... "Purim (Jewish)" ... "Spring Begins" ... "Vernal Equinox" ... "Won't You Be MY Neighbor Day" ... "Independence Day (Tunisia)".

Good Morning! Saturday March 19, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! While it won't be quite as warm as yesterday's record setting 84, it will still be unseasonably warm in the upper 70s. I know for the next few months it'll be a lot of up and down ... so I plan to take as much advantage as possible of the lovely days like this!
Yesterday: It was a lot "quieter" day. I got a lot more (nearly all) packing up done, and my Easter decorations out. I had the doors open, and it felt nice and fresh and "spring-y"! The physical therapist came by to do an evaluation on DH. In complete opposition to what everyone else has said, he said to NOT try to do too much too quickly. Nothing like being confused! LOL! DH did spend a little bit of time in the yard - no walking, but enjoying the sunshine.
Today: Today is a dialysis day, so the morning is a bit rushed. So many things to remember! I have more errands and shopping to do while he's having treatment. If all goes well and we're not so late getting home, there'll be time to tackle some things in the yard too. I love DST! :)
Today is "National Quilting Day" ... "Perigean Spring Tides" ... "Purim (Jewish - begins at sundown)" ... "Saint Joseph's Day" ... "Swallows Return to San Juan Capistrano Day" ... "Worm Moon" ... "Anniversary - Operation Iraqi Freedom" ... "Save the Florida Panther Day (Florida)".
Quotes of the Day:
"Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition."
-- Timothy Leary
"The reason lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place is that the same place isn't there the second time."
-- Willie Tyler
"Level with your child by being honest. Nobody spots a phony quicker than a child."

"It's about what YOU are going to do with the short time you have left on this earth."
-- Hugh Macleod

Good Morning! Friday March 18, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's clear and sunny and warm, and will get into the 80s today! According to the weather report, it will be nice like this most of the week, maybe cooler and rainy after a few days. I'm loving having an early spring!
Yesterday: It was a very busy day. I rushed around in the morning getting things organized, and then we headed to town for DH's dialysis. While he was there I got a lot of errands done, some bills paid, and a haircut. It took a lot longer to get home than expected (some issues after the treatment, which we're told are "perfectly normal" for someone just beginning treatment). We had some company, briefly, in the evening; otherwise it was very quiet (although I did get to watch the "results show", and glad Scotty is still there).
Today: I'm running late, but once I get myself going I hope to take advantage of this pretty day! I'm nearly done packing away Christmas, have general cleaning to do, and then plan on getting outside and digging holes! LOL!
Today is "Awkward Moments Day" ... "Forgive Mom and Dad Day" ... "National Biodiesal Day" ... "Flag Day (Aruba)".

Good Morning! Thursday March 17, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear already, and will get to low 70s. This will be a gloriously lovely day, I must find time to be out in it!
Yesterday: It was a busy, but ultimately productive day. Early in the morning the visiting nurse came by - mostly only to do yet another stack of paperwork. She'll actually only stop by once or twice a week; but someone from PT will be coming (of course, we have no idea when!). After she left, I went out long enough to pick up my friend and pick up some take-out breakfasts (well, "brunch" for us and a snack for DH). It was so nice out once the clouds cleared, so we spent a good bit of time in the yard .. a lot of planning and dreaming about gardens and patios and such. We also spent some "qualify time" getting a lot of Christmas stuff boxed up, listed, and taken upstairs. And, new smoke detectors are installed! After taking her home, I still managed to fix a nice dinner before sitting down to watch AI! Yay Scotty! :)
Today: It's a dialysis day, and we're still working on figuring out a schedule that works. Because of odd timing (approximately 11:30 to 4:00), it's hard to plan regular meals (which are needed because of meds). I'm sure we'll come up with a routine that works eventually; and hopefully very soon we'll get "settled" enough for me to go back to work a bit. If they'll still have me! LOL! For today, I have an appointment, and also will try to get a few chores done at home while DH's in town.
Today is "Absolutely Incredible Kid Day" ... "Camp Fire USA/Founder's Day" ... "Evacuation Day" ... "St. Patrick's Day" ... "Ta'Anit Ester (Fast of Esther - Jewish)" ... "National Day (Ireland)".
Quotes of the Day:

Good Morning! Wednesday March 16, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. Last night's clouds are still hanging around, but we seem to have missed out on rain this time. By later in the afternoon, they say, the clouds will begin to thin out. It will be upper 60s today, a lovely mild open-the-doors day.
Yesterday: We had a fairly busy day. I got all the paperwork together I needed, and we got to the dialysis center exactly on time. It took about 45 minutes to go through all of their paperwork, but it's a nice place - clean and bright, and the people I met were friendly, courteous, and helpful. I did get a lot of the diet guideline help I was wanting, even a printed shopping list! While DH was there, I got a lot of errands taken care of; and I also managed to reschedule some appointments that were missed in the last few weeks. I got back to pick him up with time to even slip in a little reading (I read about 2 dozen books during the hospital time!!!) Meals are a little awkward with the strange schedule, but we managed, and were both ready for an early night.
Today: Once again, the home health nurse is supposed to be coming, and us with no idea when. As usual, I have a list of things to get done, and hopefully start getting the rest of the Christmas stuff packed away! :) I did get my St. Patrick's Day things on the mantle at least. By this weekend, I'm hoping for all Christmas completely packed away, and start getting Easter out!
Today is "Curlew Day" ... "Freedom Of Information Day" ... "Goddard Day" ... "Lips Appreciation Day" ... "Ta'Anit Ester (Jewish - begins at sundown)".

Meals are a little awkward with the strange schedule, but we managed, and were both ready for an early night.

Good Morning! Tuesday March 15, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's a bit gray and drizzly, but not actaully rainy. It'll be upper 50s, close to 60 today, so a nice early spring day. Later tonight, maybe into tomorrow, there's a fair chance of rain. The newly popping out greens and flowers would appreciate that.
Yesterday: The day certainly didn't turn out like we expected. In the morning DH made a bunch of calls, to order missing medicines and to change appointments that conflicted with his dialysis schedule. Then we found out that the home health agency was not the correct one for our county (no one ever asked what county we live in! LOL!), so that had to be rescheduled. Late in the afternoon we rode into town to pick up the rest of the prescriptions and get a few more groceries. A few things still need to be figured out, but we're slowly getting there. At least we both got out of the house, even if it wasn't a lot of moving around.
Today: Today will be the first appointment at the local dialysis center. I am hoping I'll have a chance to talk to the dietician there (as I keep being told that's the person who will help me figure out what we can and can't eat!). I should have time to run a few errands and get groceries before we head home. Perhaps by next week we'll have a handle on what's "normal" for us. Maybe. LOL!
Today is "Brutus Day" ... "Ides of March" ... "True Confessions Day" ... "Admission Day (Maine)" ... "Constitution Day (Belarus)".

"One has a greater sense of intellectual degradation after an interview with a doctor than from any human experience."

Good Morning! Monday March 14, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's a little on the cool side, but at the moment clear and bright. The forecast is for it to cloud up as the day goes on, but a high around 60 will still be "comfortable".
** It's so nice to be home, open doors to fresh air, and enjoy the things starting to green up and bloom in my yard. We came home late Saturday afternoon. Amazing, spring "happened" while we were shut away! LOL! Thank you to all of you for your prayers and well wishes; and for hanging in there during this long time off. Hopefully, now, we can get back on a regular schedule. **
Yesterday: I spent the day trying to get caught up and (more or less) organized. It's a whole new experience to try to fix 3 regular meals, and keep within specified guidelines. Of course, there was a bit of laundry; and the usual - decluttering, dusting, vacuuming. In the late afternoon we had company for awhile (even though we had requested people wait until at least today or later - oh well).
Today: There is so much to do I don't even know where to start! LOL! I need to do more cleaning in the kitchen; and I have to figure out DH's meds for the rest of the week (it's done through today). Sometime today a home health nurse is supposed to come by and do an assesment; it would be nice to have some idea when, but we'll just have to stop whatever is going on when she gets here. Since I had to "company's coming clean" yesterday, a lot of the things that need to be packed are shoved behind a closed door. I need to tackle that stuff too. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for a new routine to become "habit"! :)
Today is "Moth-er Day" ... "Pi Day" ... "Commonwealth Day (UK)".
Quotes of the Day:
"I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific."
-- Jane Wagner, (and Lily Tomlin)
"You cannot run away from a weakness; you must sometimes fight it out or perish. And if that be so, why not now, and where you stand?"
-- Robert Louis Stevenson
"Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever sunlight remains to them?"
-- Rose Kennedy
