Good morning! It is a beautiful morning! Today will be low to mid 80s, clear and breezy. What a gorgeous day, and I am overjoyed to be able to be out in it. :) I'm taking a vacation day, and heading out of town this afternoon. Our granddaughter is having her 12th birthday party tomorrow, and wants us there. Isn't it lovely that she hasn't yet outgrown wanting the "old folk" around! LOL!
Last night I got a little bit more organizing done, though I have an awful lot yet to do. My "gardner" came over and watered everything (except the azaleas, which having the soaker going right now). We took time for visiting and I took her home. I also had a wonderful long conversation with my granddaughter ... took up a lot of the evening, and ever so worth it! :)
I have access to a computer over the weekend - except - have to share it with 4 other people, plus it's in the room where my grandson sleeps. So, I may or may not get to it to send the weekend newsletters. If I don't ... y'all have a great weekend, and I'll be back Monday! :)

Good Morning! Thursday April 29, 2010
Good morning! It's another beautiful morning. They just don't stop. :) I "normally" prefer fall ... but this has truly been one of the nicest springs I can remember. Last night did get cold, but no frost in my yard. Today will be sunny, mildly breezy, and mid 70s. How perfect! (except for needing some rain).
Last night I got that last cabinet assembled. It gave me a hard time for some reason, but I prevailed! Yay! I also got 2 loads of laundry done, though not put away yet. I'll finish the laundry tonight, and try to get most --if not all-- and the misc. clutter put away in new homes. I definately have too much clutter! LOL!

Good Morning! Wednesday April 28, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. My yard is full of bright sunlight; and now that there are leaves on the pecan tree, I get moving and dancing light coming through the window. Today will be upper 60s, and breezy, a lovely spring day.
Last night I watched AI ... have not changed my mind about who I like; to me, "weak link" was Lee. But, I'm more often wrong than right! LOL! We'll find out tonight. I didn't assemble the other cabinet, but got a lot of things put away in what's been done already. I think finding homes for all the "little" things will work out; I have a few larger items that won't fit in cabinets to figure out. I'll get there soon I thnk. I'm hoping tonight to get the last cabinet assembled. Maybe. :)
Today is "Pink Moon" ... "Workers Memorial Day" ... "National Day of Mourning (Canada)".

Idol Watching Top 6
Tonight's mentor, Shania Twain, her songs.
First: Lee, "Still The One". Nice voice, still not my favorite, but has improved a lot. Gets better as he goes on. Didn't care for the end too much.
Judges: Randy: started pitchy, then found his "sweet spot". Ellen: better than "pretty good", always makes a song his own. Kara: sound of voice makes it sound relevant; smiled a few times. Simon: agreed with everyone, perfect song.
Second: Mike, "It ONly Hurts When I'm Breathing". I just love him. His voice moves me to tears. I will want whatever CD he makes, whether he wins or not.
Judges: Randy: really in the zone. Ellen: felt like Luther Vandross; beautiful. Kara: always feels connected, great that he didn't change melody too much. Simon: agreed with Ellen, but performance "wet", girly feeling. OK, Simon is officially weird.
Third: Casey, "Don't". I still just love him too. I think this is one of his best performances, just a beautiful job.
Judges: Randy: one of his best ever! Ellen: sang like that's where he belongs, beautiful, best ever. Kara: artists do not hide, he "showed it all", keep it up! Simon: agree with Randy, best so far; actually felt he was singing his own song! Told him to come give Shania a kiss!
Fourth: Chrystal, "Right Now" (not sure name?). I still love her voice, though I'm not sure this was best. But, it got better as she went on. She's really cute, but I just hate that hair in the face!
Judges: Randy: loved the accoustic version, not his favorite version. Ellen: nothing she can't do; not favorite, but always good. Kara: impossible not to be good, always feels honest. believable, not best, but amazing. Simon: limp, didn't feel conviction, forgetable.
Fifth: Aaron, "You Got A Way". He has a nice voice, and he's a nice young man, but I'm just not feeling this tonight; though he ended nicely.
Judges: Randy: really good job. Ellen: impressed with amount of emotion shown. Kara: agree with Ellen. Simon: thinks he's struggling, but a different artist tonight. this is his kind of music, felt sincere.
Sixth: Siobhan, "Any Man of Mine". Liked the singing, but not the performance ... I still think she's weird. And hate that she always has to end shrieky.
Judges: Randy: loved it. Ellen: way to pull the Shania Twain into the station. Kara: she's back! Simon: song was perfect, screaming at the end went too long.
This is a hard one! They're all good at this point. Going out on a limb, the "weak link" tonight *might* have been Lee.

Good Morning! Monday April 26, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The forecast for today is "cooler" (mid 70s!), breezy, and partly cloudy. The "partly" part isn't here yet, and it's clear and bright out my window. We didn't get the rain we hoped for yesterday, although north of me they had some pretty severe storms.
A lot got done yesterday, even if not "everything". It's ok, I'll get done eventually! LOL! The azaleas are planted; and also we planted a foxglove, a "mint garden" (chocolate mint and peppermint); an upsidedown cherry tomato; and at least one other thing I've forgotten the name of. :) I fit in a quick "side trip" to my sister's house to exchange some picture CDs with my brother-in-law; and we had a nice long visit with our seldom-home neighbor. The cabinets didn't get finished ... but I'll get them done I think. :)
For today, it's back to routine; and tonight, I can enjoy watching Dancing again! :)

Good Morning! Sunday April 25, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. Yesterday it got quite warm, but more and more cloudy and dark as the day went on. By late evening, it had started to rain ... or rather, sprinkle hard. This morning I woke up to cloudy and wet. YAY! It'll be warm again, low to mid 80s; and cloudy and windy all day, with scattered showers. We still have some planting to do, will get to in between showers. :)
One of the cabinets is put together, and I really am going to like this new storage system. We also got the herb "garden" (in a container) planted, some irises, and some weeding done. Plus, we got the errands done (and the car got fixed!). We "discovered" a habitat "restore" where we hadn't know there was one. That was a fun discovery! And, we persuaded Lowe's to sell us some plants they had nearly killed off for $1 ... brought them home and watered, and they perked right up!
Today, hopefully, the other 2 cabinets will be assembled, the azaleas planted, and whatever else we can fit it. :)

Good Morning! Saturday April 24, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful day! It's a bit overcast, but will be going to mid 70s, so a lovely day for getting outdoor things done. My office gave me some gorgeous azalea plants in memory of Mama, and they will be planted today (I already had a place picked out that needed some - isn't it just amazing how God works things out!!). There are a few other things that need to be planted, and some weeding to do. I also still have those cabinets to assemble. It will be a very busy day!
Last night was - as I suspected - a "flop" night; although we did go out to get some dinner first. I did work a little on the organizing, just not much. I will make up for it today! :)

Good Morning! Thursday April 22, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The last 2 days were cloudy, but not a lot of rain; at least, not here at home. But, every little bit helps, and there's a chance of more in a few days. Today will be mid to upper 70s, and mostly sunny. Not so much fun to spend inside; but alas! I must go back to work! LOL
Thank you to all of you who sent prayers and condolences to my family. They are much appreciated.
We got home yesterday afternoon, and I got busy ... 3 loads of laundry (all done and put away!), and working on the room-cleaning project I had started last week. I did get to watch "Idol Gives Back", and was relieved to see my 3 favorites are still there. It's down to 6 now, and I think one of them may go soon; the other 2 ... just not sure yet.
Tonight, hopefully, back to "regular" shows and working on organizing this room. By this weekend I hope to have my house completely put back together and clean, and just waiting for company .... just don't know how long I'll have to wait! :)
Today is "Chemists Celebrate Earth Day" ... "Earth Day" ... "National Jelly Bean Day" ... "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" ... "Oklahoma Day (Oklahoma)".
Quotes of the Day:
"Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice."
-- William Shakespeare

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. Today will be right back up there, sunny and mid 70s. We didn't end up with much rain yesterday, so I'll have to get out there and water soon.
Last night I moved bookcases around, and settled on where they'll live now. I watched the results show (strange choices in entertainment!), and was not very surprised at the end. I'm still glad my favorites are there.

Good Morning! Wednesday April 14, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. We get a change today - cloudy and breezy, only going to mid 60s. And maybe even some showers. I sure hope so; otherwise ... by tomorrow I'll be watering! I have to work out a way to hook up some soaker hoses without being in the way of lawn mowing.
Last night I was a little bit productive again. I have 3 bookcases emptied and moved. Only, now I've changed my mind about where they're going! LOL! So, more changing around tonight I guess. I do have an empty wall beside me right now ... looks very strange. I'm used to cluttered! :) I watched AI, of course; and have no idea which 2 will go home tonight. Going out on a bit of a limb, I think Andrew might be one. Then again, I'm wrong more often than I'm right. I just hope my 3 top favorites hang in there still! :)

Idol Watching Top 9
Yes, I did say "Top 9". Again. Last week Michael had the lowest vote count .. and the judges (quite rightfully in my opinion) used the one save of the season to keep him in. But, this week, 2 will have to go.
The guest mentor is Adam Lambert, which I find quite odd. The runner up from another season as a mentor? A very strange one at that? Interesting to say the least.
First: Crystal, "I'm Saved" (?) I'm actually not familiar with this song; but I like her no matter what shes does. This was fun.
Judges: Randy: dope! loved it! Ellen: happy birthday to the audience (tired of saying great) Kara: great Simon: loved that she didn't choose an obvious song, and didn't fall into "karioke" trap, original.
Second: Andrew, "Hound Dog". Very weird tempo on this. Sorry, just not my favorite at all. This should be rock 'n roll, not .. can't think of what it reminds me of, but it just doesn't feel right to me.
Judges: Randy: not good, karioke. Ellen: needed more swagger, thought he pulled it off. Kara: he needed to OWN the stage. Simon: lazy, didn't feel like a star performance, all of his "coolness" has been sucked out.
Third: Tim, "Can't Help Falling In Love". He has a nice voice, and this wasn't bad, but just not quite "there" for me. Nice ending though.
Judges: Randy: actually liked it. Ellen: compared him to shots of tequila. Kara: probably favorite performance; authentic, etc. Simon: Zero to hero in 2 weeks.
Fourth: Lee, "A Little Less Conversation". OK, this was nice, he got "into" it, and I really enjoyed it.
Judges: Randy: in the zone! Ellen: current, likes he's engaging with the audience. Kara: loved that he really went for it! but, wants him not quite so serious. Simon: nailed it.
Fifth: Aaron, "Blue Suede Shoes". I thought he did pretty good.
Judges: divided opinions
Sixth: Siobhan, "Suspicious Minds", OK, but still don't like the screaming.
Judges: not so much
Seventh: Mike, "In the Ghetto". This brought me to tears. He's just that good.
Judges: Randy: sleepy, but HOT vocals. Ellen: glad they saved him. Kara: beautiful song, sung well. Simon: million billion times better than last week, one of his favorite of Mike's performances.
Eighth: Katie, "Baby What Do You Want Me To Do". She's good, I enjoyed this, even though it sounded "wrong" in her voice.
Judges: Randy: good Ellen: horny song Kara: showed them Simon: loud and annoying
Nineth: Casey, "Lordy Miss Claudie". Not familiar with this either; but I just plain like this guy!
Judges: Randy: nothing different, but solid. Ellen: not exciting, but good. Kara: fell short of brilliance. Simon: wasted opportunity, forgettable song but good vocals.
My prediction: going out on a limb this week, but I'm saying it could be bye-bye Andrew. But also ... I just don't know; maybe Siobhan or Aaron.
I just hope my favorites stay ... Crystal, Mike, and Casey!

Good Morning! Tuesday April 13, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's already clear and bright, and we should have a high today of upper 70s, maybe even lower 80s (like yesterday). It's wonderful spring weather, although dry. No rain in sight, so I have to find time for watering ... that will be first when I get home from work!
My class has been cancelled indefinately (probably for lack of interest ... we were down to just 2 of us! but, there were only 4 to go. Oh well). I had a brief burst of energy (not long after taking cold meds ... hummm .... amazing, huh? LOL!) I did a load of laundry, and emptied one bookshelf and the tops of 2 others. Lots to go before I can actually move things around, but it's a start. Tonight, after watering and before AI, hopefully I can at least clear another shelf or two.
I did not enjoy Dancing as much last night. I find myself a bit put off by the "costumes" ... what little is left of them. But, I'm still quite impressed by a few of the men. :) Doesn't matter. Top 9 again tonight!
Today is "National Be Kind to Lawyers Day" ... "Thomas Jefferson Day" ... "Children's Day (Florida)" ... "Sinhala and Tamil New Year (Sri Lanka)" ... "Vaisakhi (India)".

Everyone have a Great Tuesday!

Good Morning! Monday April 12, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! Bright sunlight is alreadyflooding the backyard, and it'll be like this all day. The high will be a little warmer than yesterday - upper 70s, maybe 80. But I'll be stuck inside anyway! LOL!
It was a very productive weekend. A lot of things got planted (and even some weeding); winter curtains are packed away; my pretty new monitor shelf is ready to take to work. I have lots more projects to get done too. I really want to get back to sewing, so getting my sewing area cleaned and organized is my next major project.
I don't know if I'll have class tonight or not - the last 2 have been cancelled. Either way, I'll get to watch - some or all - of Dancing. If no class, I'll try to get the Easter stuff taken upstairs and packed away.
I have a special favor to ask: would you all please say an extra prayer for my Mom (hip surgery) today!

Good Morning! Sunday April 11, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. We're still in sunshine and mild temp mode, and I'm loving it. The pollen seems to have eased off a bit (or that may be fooling myself! LOL!), so nice having the doors open to fresh air. Yesterday was a wonderful day for being out and about. I ran some errands, and we checked out some thrift shops. My friend and I found 2 in town (the one closest to me - I don't actually live in any town.), including 2 new ones. Hmmm .... that makes 4 in this small town that I know of, all within a few blocks of each other. But, at least it's business of some sort, because the "downtown" appears to be dieing otherwise. We found a few good bargains, and passed on some over priced things. Then we headed to a bigger town. I wanted to get another board and rebuild my computer shelf (it was too tall, and I decided a bit longer would work as well - the first one I can use on my home computer desk). While their we came across a fantastic bargain ... nearly $90 worth of closet maid (exactly what I need for trying to get my "girl cave" organized), for LESS than $20!! Woo Hoo!! Of course, now I have to actually clean the room enough to get them in it! LOL!
Today a niece is coming over for more backyard shooting; the shelf will get built and painted; and a few more things will get planted.
Oh, and I finally put a few pictures (Bentonville, Easter in New Bern, and spring in my yard) on my blog, if anyone would like to go check them out .... http://goodmorningrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/
Today is "Barbershop Quartet Day" ... "International "Louie Louie" Day" ... "Yom Hashoah (Israel - Holocaust Day)" ... "Liberation Day (Uganda)".

Good Morning! Friday April 9, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. There are some lingering clouds from last night's storms, but they'll move out this morning; I'm already seeing bright spots out the window. It will "only" go to mid 60s today ... right where it's "supposed" to be! :) The storms moved through, thunder and lightening in the middle of the night, and lots of lovely rain. I sure hope it's washed away some of that pollen.

Good Morning! Thursday April 8, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. My window is full of gorgeous golden sunlight, although the forecast is for cloudy. It'll be low 80s today, and maybe rain by tonight. With record-setting pollan going on, as well as my garden (and TWO newly planted apple trees), rain would certainly be welcome. It's also going to be very windy by this afternoon - which will either blow the pollan away, or just swirl it in the air more!
Last night I got that second apple tree planted. That was not easy, as I kept running into roots from a long-dead tree. But, it's done. And I confess ... I got nothing else done! LOL! I did watch the results show ... oh my!! I was so shocked. And, in the end, relieved. Now I'm asking myself ... does it matter enough to start voting? I never have this early.
Tonight I'll need to stop by the grocery store, and then decide if I do laundry or wait for the weekend! :)
Today is "National D.A.R.E Day" ... "Hana Matsuri (Flower Festival - Japan)".

Everyone have a Great Thursday!

Good Morning! Wednesday April 7, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. We'll have yet another hot day, upper 80s (maybe around 90 or just over), and clear. It seems spring is as warm as winter was cold! LOL!
Last night I actually went out in the yard and planted an apple tree! Yay me! :) Once it was planted, I watered it well, and everything else the hose would reach. It's very early to have to be watering; but I just don't think this abnormally hot weather is here to stay - at least, not until maybe July. I watched AI of course (and heard from friends that that awful person is still on Dancing!), and I've been tracking my thoughts on my blog ( http://goodmorningrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/ ). My favorites haven't changed; and I have no idea who'll go home tonight! I liked Andrew the least, but that's just me.
Hopefully tonight I'll plant the other apple tree before time to go watch the results show.
Today is "International Beaver Day" ... "National Day of Hope" ... "No Housework Day" ... "Paraprofessional Appreciation Day" ... "UN World Health Day" ... "Anniversary - Metric System" ... "Anniversary - World Health Organization".

Idol Watching Top 9
Interesting that Ryan started the show from the control room!
The "theme" is Lennan and McCartney songs. Just doesn't get any better than that!
(I'm a child of the 60s, a mega-Beattles fan!)
First: Aaron, "Long and Winding Road". Beautiful voice. Amazing talent for such a young man (he's only 16?). I don't think he'll win, but I really like him.
Judges: Randy: great voice, tone; didn't like arrangement, sleepy. Ellen: fantastic, felt like a long and winding song. Kara: good, but not yet great; every song feels the same. Simon: asked why that song (because he felt it represented his journey); old fashioned and boring.
Second: Katie, "Let It Be". She has a lovely voice too, and I love this song; but somehow, this just doesn't "do it" ... maybe too slow? I liked it better towards the end where she changed it a bit, and speeded up some.
Judges: (missed judges comments)
Third: Andrew, "Can't Buy Me Love". So-so.
Judges: not especially impressed.
Fourth: Mike, "Eleanor Rigby". I still just love this guy! Good job .. put his own spin on it, but didn't make it "unrecognizable".
Judges: Randy: parts were great, likes seeing the artist in him blossom. Ellen: he can do everything, it was incredible. Kara: fire! vocals amazing! sold the story. Simon: didn't love as much as the others, sounded like something from a musical.
Fifth: Crystal, "Come Together". Yep. She's the "real thing"... just plain old fun to watch and listen to. I love her, and am already looking forward to a CD. (the "digereedoo -sp? - was fun too!)
Judges: Randy: not best, but solid & loved how it built, even over the digereedoo. Ellen: needs a new way to say how great she is. Kara: one of her favorite performances; slinky, sexy, playful - made her more accessable. Simon: it just works, quirky, contemporary, terrific.
Note: she was more "playful" after the performance, more relaxed, more fun, more appealing.
Sixth: Tim, "All My Loving". Unless this gets better than it's starting out, I'm not very impressed. I dearly love this song, but not his version.
Judges: Randy: your own category; better than last few weeks. liked the Beatles hair do. Ellen: perfect song choice, 2nd best performance. Kara: best are with guitar; like that he took so much critism. Simon: did really well; no gimicks; likes that he takes criticism like a man, no whining.
Seventh: Casey, "Jealous Guy". I like this guy a lot, but this wasn't one of my favorite performances. I actually never heard this song before (how is that possible??). It got better as he went along, but I like "peppier" songs better.
Judges: Randy: love acoustic guitar, loved seeing sensitive side. Ellen: song felt real, best to date. soulful. Kara: showed vunerability which had been lacking. liked that he showed more range. Simon: best performance of the night. very impressed with his improvement over the weeks.
Eighth: Siobhan, "Across The Universe". I liked this better than her screechy songs, but it was so soft it was almost hard to hear. She does have a pretty voice (and is a pretty girl when not done up so wild).
Judges: Randy: love wondering every week what she will do; song a little sleepy, but likes tender side. Ellen: fan of people who march to their own drummer. Kara: showed control, hit the notes; very restrained and polite. Simon: questioned what was she thinking (she answered, she's not going to change who she is). came back much stronger than last week; likes that shes' unpredictable.
Ninth: Lee, "Hey Jude". Yuck! I liked him, but I did NOT like this at all ... sour notes! Yikes!
Judges: Randy: hot look, good job. Ellen: liked confidence, that he didn't get rattled when the guy in the kilt got separated from his parade. Kara: liked his confidence, some "off" note. Simon: doesn't know what you lot are drinking in the house. he wouldn't have done that (bagpipe - like he turned up on the wrong show).
Over all, my favorites haven't really changed. Crystal, Mike, and Casey are at the top. I think perhaps I liked Andrew the least this week. I have no clue who will go home.

Good Morning! Tuesday April 6, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It will be summer here today ... high into the 90s!! It started out a bit foggy, but is already bright; we may get some breeze by afternoon, which will be welcome. :) No rain in sight ... plants sure aren't used to needing watering in early April.
My class last night was cancelled again. I'm beginning to wonder if the course will be finished ... there are only 4 more lessons to go, but only 3 of us still going. I went to the grocery store instead. So last night I put up groceries; finished putting away laundry; and watched Dancing. I sure wish they would vote off Kate!!!! I won't find out right away, though, because tonight is Top 9 on AI. And, before that comes on, I need to go plant my apple trees! :)

Good Morning! Monday April 5, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's clear and sunny, and will go to the upper 80s today ... wow! Where did spring go? LOL! I think it might be back by the end of the week. Meantime, bright hot sunny days means watering!! I still have trees to plant, hopefully I can find time for that soon.
We got home late yesterday afternoon after a wonderful Easter with son, dil, and grands. We went to church with them, watched the kids have an egg hunt in the yard, and had a lovely dinner before we had to head home.
Tonight is class night, and hopefully finishing up some laundry. Tomorrow I should get home with enough daylight to try to plant a tree! :)

Good Morning! Friday April 2, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's already warm and sunny, and will go up to upper 80s today! Wow, what a lovely Easter weekend this will be. I can remember Easter's where we had to wear our winter coats over our pretty new spring dresses! LOL! This year I have long sleeves ... figures. LOL!!
Last night I was very busy. I got 2 loads of laundry done and put away, plus put up a load of towels (I had forgotten were in the dryer ... oops!). I made a cake and some lemon bars to take to my son's; and also boiled (and peeled - yay me!) eggs. I'm pretty much packed except last minute things.
This morning I "angeled" the eggs (who wants "deviled" eggs? LOL!), and washed a bunch (Big bunch) of dishes. So, I'm pushing getting out on time, but I think I've pretty much done what I needed to get done.
I'll have limited computer access this weekend. I'll try to pop on to say Good Morning if I can ... meantime ... y'all have a Great Easter weekend! Be safe, be happy. :)

Good Morning! Thursday April 1, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! Did anyone notice I had thewrong day yesterday? LOL!! Too bad it wasn't today I goofed up, I could have said "April fools"! LOL! Today will be in the mid-80s ... and that is NOT an April fool's joke!! Clear and sunny and oh so warm ... feels like we jumped right over spring into summer. :) I do love not having to turn heat on, and opening doors.
I got my double monitors at work just before closing yesterday. I should be able to work SO much faster! I do need the shelf for them though, to raise them to a good viewing height. Last night I went for groceries after work, so didn't have much time. I worked on my little shelf, but couldn't finish (power screwdriver had to charge! LOL!). I did watch the results show ... I actually predicted right. But, it's going to get harder and harder to do that.
Tonight will be really busy, as I have a lot to do to get ready for going off for the weekend.
Today is "April Fool's Day" ... "All Fool's Day" ... "Boomer Bonus Day" ... "Holy Thursday" ... "Maundy Thursday" ... "National Fun Day" ... "National Fun at Work Day" ... "Sorry Charlie Day".
Quotes of the Day:
