Good Morning! Thursday April 22, 2010

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The last 2 days were cloudy, but not a lot of rain; at least, not here at home. But, every little bit helps, and there's a chance of more in a few days. Today will be mid to upper 70s, and mostly sunny. Not so much fun to spend inside; but alas! I must go back to work! LOL
Thank you to all of you who sent prayers and condolences to my family. They are much appreciated.
We got home yesterday afternoon, and I got busy ... 3 loads of laundry (all done and put away!), and working on the room-cleaning project I had started last week. I did get to watch "Idol Gives Back", and was relieved to see my 3 favorites are still there. It's down to 6 now, and I think one of them may go soon; the other 2 ... just not sure yet.
Tonight, hopefully, back to "regular" shows and working on organizing this room. By this weekend I hope to have my house completely put back together and clean, and just waiting for company .... just don't know how long I'll have to wait! :)

Today is "Chemists Celebrate Earth Day" ... "Earth Day" ... "National Jelly Bean Day" ... "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" ... "Oklahoma Day (Oklahoma)".

Quotes of the Day:
"Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice."
-- William Shakespeare

"Thanks to the Interstate Highway System, it is now possible to travel from coast to coast without seeing anything."
-- Charles Kuralt

A thought for the day
Confucius said: I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

In 1889, some 20,000 homesteaders massed along the border of the Oklahoma Territory, awaiting the signal to start the Oklahoma land rush.

In 1970, Earth Day was first marked.

In 1972, Apollo 16 astronauts John Young and Charles Duke walked and rode on the surface of the moon for 7 hours, 23 minutes.

In 1993, the Holocaust Memorial Museum was dedicated in Washington.
