Good Morning! Thursday November 11, 2010

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear, and will be mid 60s today. The weather has been so up and down this fall (all year really), I don't remember what's "normal" any more. But it seems to me this is fairly average fall weather; maybe a bit warmer than usual for nearly mid November. Whatever, it's a wonderful fall day, and I will try to be out in it some today.
Yesterday: We got a lot accomplished. My friend's dad came over and finished a detail on the ceiling fan in the den; and he replaced glass in the barn window (that's been broken for 10 years! LOL!). Her son did the painting project for us. We moved and shifted and re-arranged things. I did some more decluttering (no more "junk" in the guest room!), and she did some major plant pruning and watering. All in all, we got a lot done, and by tomorrow I'll be ready to start putting trees in place (in case I have to change my plans - before I have anything else that might have to be rearranged!)
Today: I'm hoping to catch up a few cleaning chores I didn't finish yesterday. Later this afternoon we're going on a shopping excursion (yeah, I know, it's "what we do"! LOL!). I have more surfaces than I previously had ... I want to find more runners or covers of some type. Or maybe it's just an excuse to go Christmas shopping! :)
Today is Veteran's Day. Please remember to be thankful. Say "thank you" if you meet someone with past or present military service; fly your flag if you have one!

Today is "Death/Duty Day" ... "Guinness World Records Day" ... "Martinmas" ... "Veteran Day (US)" ... "Admission Day (Washington)" ... "Independence Day (Angola)": ... "Independence Day (Poland)" ... "Origami Day (Japan)" ... "Remembrance Day (Canada)" ... "St. Martin Day (Sweden)".

Qoutes of the Day:
"Elections are won by men and women chiefly because most people vote against somebody rather than for somebody."
-- Franklin P. Adams

"I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an escalator temporarily out of order sign, only an escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience."
-- Mitch Hedberg

"It’s the friends you can call up at four a.m. that matter. "
-- Marlene Dietrich
