Good Morning! Tuesday November 30, 2010

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's overcast, but not "heavy" (not dark and gloomy). It'll be mostly cloudy today but with very small chances of showers. However, it'll be weirdly warm, nearly 70. Perhaps a last gasp of fall, before temps plunge the rest of the week.
Yesterday: While I didn't get as much done as I hoped (do I ever?), we got a lot done. We probably would have gotten even more done if we hadn't been side tracked by a brief shopping excursion. Oops. And of course, my morning got off to a slow start waiting for the gas to be delivered!
Today: I have a huge list of things to accomplish today. I have to get the house at least neat if not completely decorated, get some cleaning done, get laundry caught up, and pack for a 5 day trip. Woo Hoo! :)

Today is "Computer Security Day" ... "Saint Andrew's Day" ... "Stay Home Because You're Well Day" ... "Independence Day (Barbados)".

Quotes of the Day:
"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."
-- Mark Twain

"Is sloppiness in speech caused by ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care."
-- William Safire

"My husband gave me a necklace. It's fake. I requested fake. Maybe I'm paranoid, but in this day and age, I don't want something around my neck that's worth more than my head."
-- Rita Rudner

Today in history:
In 1913, Charles Chaplin made his screen debut in Mack Sennett's short film "Making a Living."

In 1988, the Soviet Union stopped jamming broadcasts of Radio Free Europe for the first time in 30 years.

In 2005, the world's first partial-face transplant was conducted in France where a woman was given a new nose, lips and chin following a brutal dog bite.
