Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The forecast for today just couldn't be nicer ... mid 80s, sunny, breezy, and much less humid. This is below "normal" here, and I'm loving it! :) My garden is happy ... with a lot of rain a few nights ago, and then cooler, everything is just thriving.
Last night I did a bit of laundry, dusting, and a bit of decluttering. The TV shows I like were all reruns, so I was up and down a good bit. I didn't do everything I wanted, but it's "good enough" for now.
This afternoon I'm meeting my brother and sister-in-law to take care of some business, a bit of a visit, and go out to dinner. I am So looking forward to that! I'm also looking forward to getting off work early! LOL!

Good Morning! Thursday July 1, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It looks to be a bit overcast, but I think it just might be morning mist that will burn off. Today is supposed to be mid 80s, partly cloudy, and less humid. After a record setting stretch of June days in the 90s, now we're below "normal" ... a lovely break, and perfect weather!
Last night when I got home Jimmy wanted me to ride into town with him to buy some fresh veggies (corn, field peas, cantalope); and then we went by and picked up son and grandson to bring home for dinner. So, I didn't get anything done ... but since I tripped over the dog (playing tag with her), it was just as well to be lazy. All is fine this morning. :)
Tonight I hope to do a bit of pre-weekend-cleaning. That's the plan. At this point, it might be interesting to see what I really manage to accomplish! LOL!

Good Morning! Wednesday June 30, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! Today will be much cooler than the past month has been, low to mid 80s. Wow! And last night we finally got rain!! For a long time my yard looked like a swamp; but this morning the thirsty ground has soaked it all up. According to the forecast, today will be cloudy with a chance of more storms; and it won't get back to the 90s for 4 days! Lovely!!
I went by the grocery store on the way home, and barefly got groceries in before it started sprinkling. The heavy rain came later in the evening. I got the last 2 chairs down and uncovered, and I got one load of laundry done.
Tonight I hope to start tackling the chairs with some glue and screws, to get the frames more sturdy. And maybe this time I'll get to the next sewing project. :)
Today is "Leap Second Adjustment Time" ... "Anniversary - N.O.W." ... "Armed Forces Day (Guatemala)" ... "Independence Day (Congo)" ... "Revolution Day (Sudan)".

Good Morning! Tuesday June 29, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. I believe they could just rubber stamp the forecast these days ... mid to upper 90s, partly cloudy, chance of afternoon storms. According to the local "weather guru", this is officially the hottest June on record since WWII. Hopefully tomorrow will break the streak, but today will be hot again.
Last night I found one of those unusual doses of energy (for a change! LOL!). I got one more chair downstairs and uncovered. I finished the small (red-white-blue table runner) project. I even read several chapters in a book. Wow. If I could do that every night, it would be great. But, probably won't! LOL!
Tonight I'm aiming for another round of watering if it doesn't rain; one more chair done (note: "done" only means the seats uncovered ... they still need to be cleaned good, some need to be reinforced); and pull out an overdue sewing project to get back to work on.
I wonder if there's anything on TV to sew along to? Maybe more AGT silliness? :)
Today is "Feast of Tammuz (Jewish)" ... "Peter & Paul Day (Christian)" ... "Saint Peter's Day (Christian)" ... "Independence Day (Seychelles)".

Good Morning! Monday June 28, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright out, but seems a bit overcast; the forecast is for partly sunny, upper 90s, and humid. As usual, there's the chance of afternoon storms. None came yesterday, so most everything got watered last night. It actually turned a bit cooler just as it got dark - a pleasant surprise! :)
It was hot yesterday, even inside with a/c running, so I didn't get as much done as I hoped; but I did get 2 more chairs down from upstairs and the covers off the seats. I got floors mopped, the kitchen counters cleaned, and laundry finished.
They keep saying we're going to get a "cool spell" ... looks like the end of the week it might even drop into the 80s. Meantime, I'll keep muddling along the best I can to keep up with things. Once again, I'm hoping tonight I'll get the sewing project finished. :)

Good Morning! Sunday June 27, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's supposed to gt "hot" again today, upper 90s; and mostly sunny. I missed the forecast last night, but I expect there will be the "usual" afternoon storms, though maybe less today. Yesterday storms moved across, but at my house we only got a brief sprinkle. Everything got watered, though, and still seems to be quite happy.
The errands got done yesterday, but not a lot else. We decided to stop in a shop we'd never been in before (mostly curiosity - it's an antique shop, which translates in my mind to "very expensive"). It had a lot of gorgeous things ... and it was air conditioned ... so a lot of time was spent browsing and drooling! LOL! We also checked out one other new second hand shop (nice), and got home in time to take trash to the dump before closing.
Today will be a little bit of "routine" cleaning, and I will bring the chairs down from the attic and start working on them. Even though they need refinishing (or at least a very good deep cleaning), they're quite useable as they are, but need new seat covers). Also, finishing up some laundry started yesterday, and finishing the sewing project. That's enough for one day I think! :)
Today is "America's Kid's Day" ... "Decide to Be Married Day" ... "Descendants Day" ... "National HIV Testing Day" ... "Anniversary - Industrial Workers of the World Founded" ... "Happy Birthday - "Happy Birthday to You" Song" ... "Independence Day (Djibouti)".

Good Morning! Saturday June 26, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright out, but sort of "milky" looking; and warm already. I think the forecast is for mid 90s and possible afternoon storms again. Last night storms moved across the state, again; only this time we did get a bit of rain. Not very much, but anything is gratefully accepted! :) The gardens (in and out of containers) seem to be quite happy anyway. Most everythng is thriving (pictures on my blog, http://goodmorningrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/ ).
Last nightwe decided to go out again ... what was planned hadn't thawed (amazing!), and we thought it would be nice to eat with a/c. Ha! The restaurant (small local place) had no a/c! LOL! But the food was good, and no dishes! :) We stopped to chat with the neighbor on the way home, and it got late. So, no sewing got done.
Today I have errands to do; I hope to get as much as possible done of the "routine chores" this morning, before it gets too hot. Then I have some easier inside projects to work on, including sewing, for the weekend. I have chairs to recover; photo albums to peruse (and lable if possible); books to read; sewing projects to work on ... so much to do, so little time! LOL!
Today is "Lunar Eclipse" ... "Strawberry Moon" ... "UN International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" ... "UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture" ... "Independence Day (Madagascar)".
Quotes of the Day:
"Nothing is more admirable than the fortitude with which millionaires tolerate the disadvantages of their wealth."

"I think people that have a brother or sister don't realize how lucky they are. Sure, they fight a lot, but to know that there's always somebody there, somebody that's family."
-- Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park
"He who hesitates is not only lost, but miles from the next exit."

Good Morning! Friday June 25, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It's still hot, but perhaps not as hot as yesterday ... only mid to upper 90s today (no triple digits)! :) There's a much better chance of rain this afternoon ... although it's still those "pop-up" storms that tend to miss me. Perhaps today will be different!
Last night I actually got most of the stitching done on my small project. I would have finished ... except ... the bobbin ran out, and it was late. I decided my eyes were too tired to try to rewind it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL!
Tonight I should be able to finish; and hopefully, get back to work on another project. If I don't get another lazy streak! :)
Today is "Take Your Dog to Work Day" ... "Anniversary - Battle of Little Bighorn" ... "Ratification Day (Virginia)" ... "Independence Day (Mozambique)" ... "National Day (Bhutan)" ... "National Day (Slovenia)".
Quotes of the Day:
"It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow."

Good Morning! Thursday June 24, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's going to be extraordinarily hot today: forecast is for 101, and where I live it's usually 1 to 3 degrees higher. I don't even know what the heat index will be ... I just know it's another day to NOT be outside! There's probably a good chance of more afternoon storms; and also a good chance that, like yesterday, they'll skip right around me. So, I keep watering! LOL!
Last night wasn't real productive ... honestly, it's hot even with a/c going. But I did get my small project completely pinned and ready to sew. I hope to get to that tonight. Last night I also watched (some of) AGT ... somewhat a waste of time, although there were a few surprises. Most of the surprises were what the judges "let through". What were they thinking??? LOL!
Today is "Celebration of the Senses" ... "National Bomp Pop Day" ... "National Handshake Day" ... "Saint John the Baptist Day" ... "John's Day (Latvia)" ... "Macau Day (China)".
Quotes of the Day:
"Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself."

Spring into Summer
Good Morning! Wednesday June 22, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's very warm already, and going to be HOT. Upper 90s, probably 100, and heat indexes up to 105ish. Wow. We may even set a heat record for today. This is definately a day to stay inside!
Last night I didn't end up getting anything "done". Instead, we took my grandson and went to town for ice cream! Mmmmmmm!! LOL! On a hot summer night, what a great thing to do. I stopped in Wally World and got the containers I needed; and when I got home I did put the last few things back in the cabinet and get the card table out of the kitchen. That counts, right? :)
Tonight I hope to get back to work on the small sewing project I've started. I need to get my mind-set back to finishing big projects!
I will probably also run the sprinklers again. In this heat, if I had time, twice a day might not be too much. :)
Today is "Let It Go Day" ... "UN Public service Day" ... "Victory Day (Estonia)"
Quotes of the Day:
"It is not advisable, James, to venture unsolicited opinions. You should spare yourself the embarrassing discovery of their exact value to your listener."

Good Morning! Monday June 21, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's a bit misty, but warm already and that will quickly burn off. Today will be upper 90s, but less humid. Still no rain, other than the "chance" of afternoon storms. Those usually miss me ... I'll keep on watering!
Yesterday I didn't do as much as I hoped, though I did finish one major project in the kitchen. There's no a/c in there, so by late morning I have to stop. I did do a few other decluttering bits around the house.
After work today I have to make a quick stop to exchange a timer (that doesn't "keep time" ... something wrong with that picture? LOL!). Tonight I have a different set of papers to dig out of storage and scan; and I hope to do some ironing and pinning on a project to sew!! It's been too long since I could just sit and sew; now that it's officially summer, major projects have to go on hold until the fall! :)

Tonight I have a different set of papers to dig out of storage and scan; and I hope to do some ironing and pinning on a project to sew!! It's been too long since I could just sit and sew; now that it's officially summer, major projects have to go on hold until the fall! :)

Good Morning! Sunday June 20, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. I was out early to walk the dog, and it was actually quite pleasant ... not hot yet, and a breeze. It's supposed to go to the upper 90s today ... and for the next week ... and it's not even "officially" summer yet! No rain in sight either.
Yesterday everything got a good watering, and I will probably go out again this evening to water. In the meantime, I'm trying to finish my kitchen project (it got so hot yesterday, I didn't make as much progress as I hoped). We did get a few errands run, but cut them short too.
I got the day off to a good start, so hopefully I can keep the energy going! :)
I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there. My friends, give your dads hugs for me if you can. This is our first Father's Day without mine, and we (family) miss him a lot!
Today is "Family Awareness Day" ... "Father's Day" ... "Husband Caregiver Day" ... "UN World Refugee Day" ... "Vinegar Day" ... "World Juggling Day" ... "Admission Day (West Virginia)" ... "Flag Day (Argentina)".

Good Morning! Saturday June 19, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's going to be mid 90s again, mostly sunny, and only a very tiny chance of storms this afternoon. The storms that tend to "pop up" in this heat generally miss my house. I watered yesterday, but may do it again tonight. They're predicting upper 90s for the next 5 days at least. I wonder what happened to spring?? LOL!
Last night, besides watering, I contined on a paper search. I am now confident I do not have the papers I was searching for. That's a bit of a disappointment, because it makes things more difficult for someone else. But, I just simply never had the particular papers in question. So, today, on to other things.
I already have laundry going and the kitchen floor mopped (trying to avoid the hottest part of the day!); later, hot or not, I plan to clean out kitchen cabinets! I see signs of lurking mice .. eeewwwwww ... they have to go! :)
Today is " Emancipation Day" ... "Juneteenth" ... ""War is Hell" Day" ... "World Juggling Day" ... "World Sauntering Day".
Quotes of the Day:
"Peace of mind is that mental condition in which you have accepted the worst."
-- Lin Yutang

"I was gratified to be able to answer promptly. I said I don't know."

in 1867, the first running of the Belmont Stakes took place at Jerome Park, N.Y.
In 1905, Pittsburgh showman Harry Davis opened the world's first nickelodeon, showing the silent Western film "The Great Train Robbery." The storefront theater boasted 96 seats and charged 5 cents and prompted the advent of movie houses across the United States.

Good Morning! Friday June 18, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear, and will be in the low 90s again. The forecast is for partly cloudy and almost no chance of rain. I won't have time to water this morning, so out come the sprinklers tonight!
Last night we had to go to town to pick up a prescription, so ate while there. When we got home it was late, but I did continue my hunt - unsuccessfully - for the elusive paperwork.
Tonight, as well as running the sprinklers, the seach will continue. :)

Good Morning! Thursday June 17, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear, and will be mid to upper 90s today. I haven't heard if we've had a "record" number of days in the 90s for June ... sure seems like it! They're saying there's a better chance of showers later this afternoon - yesterday we only got a few brief ones, but every little bit helps! I got everything watered yesterday morning. This morning, all I have left to do is walk the dog. :)
Last night I got side-tracked by another project. I'm searching for some old paperwork, and I get easily distracted by things I find! LOL! So far I have not found the one piece of paper I'm looking for ... I really don't think I have it, but will keep looking.
While sorting paper, I watched America's Got Talent. What a lot of silly people there are! Tonight I suspect I'll watch reruns and continue the sorting/searching paper process.
Today is " Recess at Work Day" ... "UN World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought" ... "Watergate Day" ... "Independence Day (Iceland)".

Good Morning! Wednesday June 16, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. I woke up to dark skies and thunder. No rain yet, and it's lighter, but I'm not giving up hope for rain today! :) Last night lots of storms moved across the state, though as usual they passed south and north of me. The forecast today is for around 90, or low 90s, mostly cloudy and humid; and a good chance of storms especially later this afternoon. With ridiculously high temps for June, some more rain sure would be welcome!
Last night did not turn out to be very productive, though I did get laundry done. Hopefully tonight I will get back to my massive "to-do" list! LOL! At least this morning has started well ... last of laundry out of dryer, dishes done, dog walked ... and I'm not running late yet! :)

Good Morning! Tuesday June 15, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's clear and bright, and going to be hot again, though not like yesterday. It will "only" go to mid 90s today! There were lots of storm warnings last night, but any rain out there skipped me. I should have watered, but with the grandchildren here (and wanting to help! LOL!), I didn't ... so will set out sprinklers tonight.
I had a lovely evening visiting with the grands ... although, with one here from out of state, they were mostly visiting with each other. That's ok too. Part of them are now on the way to CA to visit another set of grandparents. I get to "puppy-sit"! LOL! (it's fine, I love Sophie, and she loves me!).
Tonight, it's watering and catching up laundry. And maybe ... dare I hope? ... some sewing!! :)

Good Morning! Monday June 14, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It will be an extraordinarily hot day ... upper 90s and heat indexs as high as 105. This is for sure not a day to be out if you don't have to!
Yesterday was hot, mid 90s; and though by late afternoon it got dark and windy, there was no rain here. Tonight I'll have to run sprinklers again for sure. I didn't go outside at all, but did have a busy day. I finished most of the projects I planned ... and I now have a *real* guest room! (meaning there's an actual room, with a door; and a bed, not a sofa and not an air mattress on boxes. Well, ok, it's an air mattress .. but it's on a frame and box spring! LOL!). I also got most of the pictures hung up that I wanted ... I still have a few I have to decide where they're going to live. :)
Tonight 2, and maybe 3, of my grandchildren will be here, and I'm not planning anything!!!
Today is " Family History Day" ... "Flag Day (US)" ... "Flag Day: Anniversary of the Stars and Stripes" ... "National Flag Day USA: Pause for the Pledge" ... "Anniversary - US Army" ... "Rice Planting Festival (Japan)".
Quotes of the Day:
"A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after a while he gets to know something."

Good Morning! Sunday June 13, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. I got to "sleep in" a bit; but early I woke up to the most lovely sound ... Rain!! Wonderful steady pouring rain. This morning the sun is out and everything sparkles like it has on diamond jewelry! Of course, it's going to be quite hot, upper 90s, with heat indexes into 100s. It's not a day for anything outside, but I have lots of inside stuff to finish up.
I did get a lot done yesterday, even though it was hot and humid. I didn't get the bed assembled though. Turned out the frame I thought I was going to use was only a twin size. So, I took the brass frame out of the garden (you know ... "flower bed" .. LOL!!). The frame is in perfect condition; the bolts, however, are rusted tight. They're soaking in WD-40, and if that doesn't work I'll find a hack saw! LOL! I still have a few more things to take upstairs; but I have much more room now. So today I have a lot to do, but planning to take it slow and easy ... even inside (and especially upstairs) it's hot!
Today is " Children's Sunday" ... "Multicultural American Child Awareness Day" ... "Race Unity Day" ... "Saint Anthony of Padua Feast Day" ... "Children's Day (Ma)".

Good Morning! Saturday June 12, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It started out overcast, but it's already brighter. It's going to be mid or upper 90s, and only a very small chance of a late afternoon storm. So, a good day to get laundry hung out early! LOL! Actually, I hung some out last night, and will do more in a few minutes.
Last night I really got myself in gear, and did all the things I had listed for myself for Thursday and last night ... mostly moving boxes of "stuff" to the upstairs storage room, as well as getting that laundry washed and hung. And one tiny plant repotted! :)
Today I plan to finish clearing all the extra junk that has accumulated in what was supposed to be the guest room; and maybe getting an actual bed in there. The only problem is going to be the mountain I have to move upstairs to get to the box spring for the bed! LOL!! But, I'm going to try anyway. Oh, and water, water, water!! :)
Today is "Crowed Nest Awareness Day" ... "Anniversary - Baseball Hall of Fame" ... "Independence Day (Philippines)" ... "Independence Day (Russia)".

Good Morning! Friday June 11, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear, and already in the 70s. Today will be mostly sunny, low 90s but less humid than yesterday. They're saying no showers, but maybe rain this weekend. I think I'll just keep watering! :)
I didn't do anything I thought I would last night. At the "last minute" (just before getting off work), a friend called to remind me about a free concert in the town park. Well, free being the key word, we decided to go. Jimmy wasn't very enthusiastic (he actually sat in the car for 2 hours!), but he did like the idea of eating in town (and not having to cook! LOL!). It turned out that the band was very good. They played mostly beach music, with a lot of "oldies" (50s, 60s) and some contemporary thrown in. It was shady with a tiny bit of breeze in the grove, so not uncomfortable at all. Afterwards we went to Subway (not a lot open after 9:00 in a small town!!). It was a very nice evening "off", I'm glad we decided to go.
Tonight, I will try to make up for what I didn't get done last night! :)
Today is "Corn on the Cob Day" ... "King Kamehameha I Day (Hawaii)".

Good Morning! Thursday June 10, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's overcast right now, but that should clear during the morning (unfortunately, it means only a very small chance of any showers), and by afternoon it will be mostly sunny, mid 90s, and humid. I sure am glad I ran the sprinklers last night! I think I'll be doing a lot of that, as the forecast is for yet another string of days in the 90s with only small chances of afternoon showers or storms. It's a bit hotter than "usual", but still normal NC spring/summer weather.
Last night I dredged up a spurt of energy (and will probably crash tonight! LOL!). I stopped for groceries on the way home, and got them put away. As I said, I ran the sprinklers (which involved hooking up hoses that had been unhooked for grass cutting); I ran them in 3 areas that I think got nearly everything (and this morning I will water what got missed last night). I I cooked some squash a friend at work gave me (silly Jimmy doesn't eat it!); and I got the rest of the odds and ends on the stairs taken upstairs. And I located a string of red lights to put on my summer "patriotic" tree! :)
Tonight I have one small plant to repot, and it's time to catch up laundry again.

Good Morning! Wednesday June 9, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It seems a bit overcast so far, and today will probably be mostly cloudy. We're edging back into the heat again, high today upper 80s. A front is bringing us more humidity .. summer weather early this year.
Last night I didn't make the trip up the stairs; but I did get more "hot spots" cleared. I just have to keep reminding myself, it's all progress of one form or another! Tonight I have to stop after work for groceries; maybe I'll get a few more things upstairs. I'll at least tackle a bit more clutter; and, I have accumulated a large pile of mending I need to start dealing with! :)

Everyone have a Great Wednesday!

Good Morning! Tuesday June 8, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's clear and bright, and will be mid dto upper 80s today. I think rain is a possibility by tomorrow; but of course, the forecast changes hourly, so who knows! :) Depending on the forecast by this evening, I may be watering.
Last night I did manage to get several loads of stuff put upstairs, and sort through a few small boxes of odds and ends. I'm trying very hard to not re-clutter areas I've already cleared - hard, because it's so tempting to want to just put something aside and deal with it later! LOL! I'm making progress, even though it's not "visible". Of course, it helps that there's currently nothing much on TV I want to watch! LOL!! So, tonight, hopefully, I'll get more stuff upstairs (seasonal things that keep turning up in odd places), and more boxes sorted.
Today is "Upsy Daisy Day" ... "World Ocean Day" ... "Anniversary - Bill of Rights".

Good Morning! Monday June 7, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! We had a bit of rain overnight - not a lot, just enough to "refresh". Today will be mid 80s (more than 10 degrees "cooler" than the weekend!), less humid, and mostly sunny. It sure would be a lovely day to stay home and play in the garden! :)
Yesterday was not a day for getting very much done; but I did get my "main" rooms to where they're mostly clear of clutter. I still have a lot of various boxes of "stuff" to sort, but for now they're at least contained. Once all the rooms are clear and clutter-free, and the house is clean, the sorting part can wait. I'm so anxious to get back to sewing; and, I've got so many books to read. If I can't have summer off, doing things I enjoy is the next best thing! LOL!
Hopefully tonight's project will be taking things upstairs, since it should be at least a smidgeon cooler now. I hope! :)
Today is "Anniversary - VCR Introduction" ... "Boone Day (Ky)" ... "National Day (Malta)".
Quotes of the Day:
"You can only be young once. But you can always be immature."

Good Morning! Sunday June 7, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's clear and bright and already warm. It'll go to mid 90s today (maybe even close to 100!). There's a chance of rain tonight, which will be welcome even to watered plants.
Yesterday we got more done than expected. Jimmy had a class all day, so I dropped him off, picked up my niece and my friend, and we made the thrift shop rounds. We found a few great bargains (we are SO good at that -- too good!), but mostly did a lot of looking and dreaming. We picked up Jimmy from his class (he passed), and went for pizza. Later in the evening, when the sun was lower (still hot!), my friend got several things potted and we ran the sprinklers and soakers to get everything watered. Also, they helped me move the last "big" piece of furniture needed to get things in place, so I can start putting everything back in it's new home.
This morning we're taking my niece home, giving her some decorating ideas for her apartment, and then home. I will be doing laundry (dryer isn't working right, but in this weather I can put it on the line & it'll be dry in a very short time!), and working on once again getting all the clutter put away.
Today is "Children's Awareness Memorial Day" ... "Corpus Christi (Christian - US Observance)" ... "National Cancer Survivors Day" ... "Anniversary - D-Day" ... "Day of the Rice God (Japan)" ... "Flag Day (Sweden)" ... "Memorial Day (Korea)".

Good Morning! Saturday June 5, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's actually quite pleasant out now, though it's going to warm up into mid 90s. I think it will be mostly sunny, though there is always that small chance of afternoon storms. Mostly, though, I'm planning on getting sprinklers going this evening. For now everything looks happy ... I want to keep them that way! :)
Last night was, as I expected, mostly lazy. I did work a bit on organizing some of my sewing supplies into more accessible drawers.
Today will be too hot for gardening, other than a few things that will get potted (or re-potted) late this afternoon. So it may as well be a fun day for prowling around flea markets and thrift shops ... we know all the ones that have a/c! LOL! I'll have to fit in some grocery shopping, finishing laundry, washing dishes ... you know, all that boring stuff that just doesn't go away! :)
Today is "Do-Dah Parade" ... "National Trails Day" ... "UN World Environment Day" ... "Anniversary - AIDS" ... "Constitution Day (Denmark)".
Quotes of the Day:
"Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the town gossip."

Good Morning! Friday June 4, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. While it's faintly hazy this morning, it will be mostly sunny later today. In fact, it will be quite hot ... low to mid 90s ... and humid. This should mean weekend plans won't be ruined (at least, not for "younger" people who can stand the heat! LOL!).
Last night the table got moved. It didn't end up where I thought it would ... but it's out of the way! And, the sewing table is partly in place. I have a lot more to do to finish getting the room re-organized, but at least I'm a big step closer. I watched some of Dance, and some reruns. I tried to do some laundry - my dryer is acting strange, so I guess it's time to call the repair man. Or use the clothesline! :)Today my niece is coming to visit, and I'm not sure what we'll get done tonight; probably not much but relaxing.
Today is "Audacity To Hope Day" ... "UN International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression" ... "Flag Day (Finland)".

Good Morning! Thursday June 3, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It seems more like mid summer than late spring these days ... today will be near 90, mostly cloudy and humid. Once again, those afternoon showers or storms could pop up. Yesterday we heard rumbles of thunder off and on all day, and it rained a bit (could always use more).
I got nearly everything moved for one furniture moving project. I have to get legs off a table in order to move it ... and that's where I ran out of energy! LOL! Hopefully tonight I'll finish it, along with the never-ending laundry. Last night I had forgotten about the new season of Dancing (SYTYCD); and I also remembered why I rarely watch the audition segments! But, when that's all that's on, it's easy to go and get other things done ... no idea about tonight! :)

Everyone have a Great Thursday!
Today is "Chimborazo Day" ... "Corpus Christi (Christian)" ... "Anniversary - First Woman Rabbi in US" ... "Anniversary - Mighty Casey Has Struck Out" ... "Anniversary - Zoot Suit Riots".

Good Morning! Wednesday June 2, 2010
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It will be warm - upper 80s - and humid today, and partly sunny. As always with this type of pattern, chances of afternoon storms. Yesterday morning we got rain; but we can always use even more!
Last night I went to the grocery store on the way home. I didn't get much of my sorting/organizing done (just a few small things). The bulk of my evening was spent with the time-consuming and annoying task of choosing plans and signing up for insurance, since my employer is changing carriers. It's done, and if my plans work out I won't have to do that again! :)
Tonight I hope to be back to working on getting furniture re-arranged. Between shows ending, and being out of town so much, I have no idea what's on TV tonight! LOL! Guess I'll find out ... hopefully nothing I especially want to watch. :)
Today is "National Bubba Day" ... "National Leave The Office Early Day" ... "Saint Erasmus Day" ... "Yell "Fudge" at Cobras in North America Day" ... "Coronation Day (Bhutan)" ... "Coronation Day (UK)" ... "Republic Day (Italy)".

Good Morning! Tuesday June 1, 2010
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. I can't believe it's JUNE already! Today will be mid 80s, mostly cloudy, and maybe more afternoon storms. I do hope so, the rain helps compensate (my garden) for all this heat. It may only be in my mind, but it seems spring has been unusually hot this year. But then, nothing has been "normal" this spring!
I didn't get everything done yesterday I hoped, but I did get a lot of it. I delivered a few things to my sister; did some shopping (searching for the "perfect" container to make a bigger filter for the fish pond - and found it!). The last bookshelves are in the house (not risking weather on the porch), although far from "in place". I did make a lot of progress on emptying areas that have to be moved around. Hopefully each evening I'll get more done, now that "the good shows" are done! LOL!
Today is "National Go Barefoot Day" ... "Say Something Nice Day" ... "Anniversary - CNN" ... "Anniversary - Heimlich Maneuver" ... "Admission Day (Kentucky)" ... "Admission Day (Tennessee)" ... "Independence Day (Samoa)" ... "International Children's Day (China)".
