Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! There are a few clouds, and maybe a few sprinkles this morning; but there's also a lot of blue, and the clouds will blow over. We might have a record high today, mid 70s, sunny and breezy. It's hard to keep remembering that we *can* have snow in March!
Yesterday: Another day spent mostly waiting ... and I had a longer wait than "usual" because someone didn't bother to relay a message. Oh well. Sometimes it's quite true that "no news is good news". Everything is fine, or at least reasonably so! :) At least I got home earlier, so got a really good night's sleep.
Today: I'm going to tackle some over due chores around here this morning. I'll wait until later in the day to go to Durham; I might stay over tonight, haven't quite decided yet. I'm not much use to anyone if I'm over tired and feeling crumpled! LOL! But as long as everything is going well, and visiting is so limited (someone else planning to go this afternoon), then waiting until this evening makes better sense. :)

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's a little "milky" looking, and might sprinkle a bit later. It'll be mostly cloudy and breezy, but quite unseasonably warm in the upper 60s! The last report I heard sounds like this warm spell will last a week or so - nice! :)
Yesterday: After taking care of some bits and pieces around the house, I went back to Durham. They are still doing what they love best .. most tests! At least I had a (fairly) comfortable chair to sit around in all day.
Today: Shortly I'll head back to Durham yet again. I suspect it'll be another long day of "hurry up and wait"! LOL!

Good Morning! Wednesday February 16, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. Right now it's sunny, though the forecast is for mostly cloudy off and on. It'll be another nice warm day, low 60s. It's so easy to keep thinking spring is nearly here ... but around here, we know what March can sometimes bring!
Yesterday: I apologize for no newsletter yesterday. We didn't find out until Monday evening, that we had to leave here by 4:30 AM yesterday. Things just didn't go exactly as planned (as usual!), and I didn't end up getting home until 10:00 at night. Not to worry, all is well, just annoying! LOL!
Today: I have to go back to Durham today, though hopefully not for long. I think we all know by now how much I dislike that drive! :) I'm getting farther behind on things that should be getting done at home. Fair warning: NO one come visit me any time soon! LOL!!
Today is "Independence Day (Lithuania)".

Good Morning! Monday February 14, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's clear and bright, and quite unseasonably warm. It may go to the lower 70s today. This is the kind of day that fools you into thinking it's nearly spring; but it's still only mid February. I'd love to hope for an early spring, but not counting on it. :)
Yesterday: We didn't get off as early as I hoped. I did a quick load of laundry (well, "quick" is relative - had to cycle through 2 loads to get to mine! LOL!), and got the boxes out of the car. However, when I went to the car I found we had a flat tire! So, DS went out and changed that. Somehow, with this and that, it got to be mid afternoon before we left. With a "toy" tire on, I went slower ... took longer to get home, but safe. :)
Today: After finishing unpacking and laundry, and a few "catch-up" things, I'll go to town for 2 new tires. We're going to a friend's for dinner tonight ... yay, no cooking or dishes. :)
Today is "Ferris Wheel Day" ... "National Donor Day" ... "National Have A Heart Day" ... "Race Relations Day" .... "Valentine's Day" ... "Anniversary - League of Women Voters" ... "Admission Day (Arizona)" ... "Admission Day (Oregon)".

Good Morning! Sunday February 13, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear; and while I haven't been out yet, I really don't think it's terribly cold. If I remember right (which is doubtful, but anyway), now we're past that last bit of snow it's going to warm up. We might even be well on the way to spring! :)
Yesterday: We had a very nice relaxing day. I did what little I could to "help out"; but actually, pretty much everything was done, just a few last minute touch ups. My DGS had a very nice party. Not very many showed up (not a whole lot were invivted to start with .. not a very big house for too many rambunctious 10 year old boys! LOL!), but everyone had a good time. My son's homemade pizza was a big hit; and DIL's (chocolate!!) cupcakes were also. After the guests went home, the rest of the day was spent just napping, watching TV, and munching away on "left over" pizza!
Today: I'm up early - earlier than everyone else at least - as usual. We'll be heading home in a little while, but need to go take some boxes out of the car first. Once everyone is up, showered and dressed, and the boxes out, we'll probably head on home ... lots waiting for me to do there! :)
Today is "Employee Legal Awareness Day" ... "Get A Different Name Day" ... "The Grammy Awards" ... "Madly in Love With Me Day"

Good Morning! Saturday February 12, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and sunny, still a bit chilly. I don't know what the temp is,but felt cold when I let a dog out a short time ago. :)
Yesterday: It was a lot of rushing around and being disorganized, I actually got everything done that I needed to do. We left home by noon, and with a Wendy's and a Wally stop, we still got here by a little after 3:00 - in pouring rain! LOL! My son said it snowed in Kinston, before it turned over to sleet and then rain. Still, we arrived safely and had a relaxing evening.

Good Morning! Friday February 11, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's cold, but will go to upper 40s, maybe even low 50s. It's bright and clear, and just a nice lovely day.
Yesterday: It was very strange, it started snowing just as we were leaving. The roads never got "bad", but most of the drive was "gray" with flying snow. The trees along side the road (what I could see) where gorgeous! By the time we got to Durham, it had stopped .. and by the time we headed home (2 appointments later), the sun was shining and all but the shadiest places were clear. We managed to miss the evening traffic .. just barely; but got home in time to keep working on re-organizing my computer room.
Today: In a little while we're heading DS's house for DGSs birthday. I'm a bit scatter brained this morning (meaning, more than "usual"! LOL!)), so don't seem to be moving fast enough to get packed and the car loaded. I'm not looking forward to yet another drive; but it will be a nice relaxing (well, mostly, except for their not-quite-normal dog) weekend. :)

Good Morning! Thursday February 10, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. According to the TV weather, it's snowing. Somewhere. LOL! As of now, it's not snowing, raining, or anything here. It's too dark (too early) to see how cloudy it is. (I just went and looked out the window. I think I saw a snowflake OK, maybe I imagined it. LOL!) In any case, it's supposed to becomemostly sunny and mid 40s by this afternoon.
Yesterday: It was an "ordinary" work day. I didn't leave anything overdue on my desk (which is a great accomplishment! :) ) Last night I did laundry (again - how can 2 people generate so much???), and kept working on getting this room organized - a daunting task to say the least!
Today: It's so early because we have to go to Durham again. I can't tell yet, but it looks like *maybe* the snow is farther to the east, and I have to head north-west. There are two appointments today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I get to drive in "rush hour" coming and going. Oh goody. LOL!
Today is "Plimsoll Day"

Good Morning! Wednesday February 9, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's clear and bright, will be a lovely cool winter day. Mid 40s is on the low side of "normal"; but better than what's coming. We apparently have one more winter storm coming tomorrow, and then we can start really looking to spring. Well, I hope so anyway! :)
Yesterday: It was a pretty ordinary work day, nothng too dramatic. I managed to run an errand at lunch time. When I got home my new desk was here ... so finally, I can start putting the room back together! That will take much longer, as not everything is coming back into the room! LOL!!
Today: It's another work day. I'll have to go to Wal-Mart after work for some cards (picking them out would take too long for lunch time! LOL!). This evening it will be more of sifting things back into place, or getting rid of them. For me, the getting rid part is hard; but there's only so much room; and the "extra stuff" can't keep living in the rest of the house! LOL!
Today is "National Stop Bullying Day" ... "Anniversary - Beatles's Appearance Ed Sullivan Show".

Good Morning! Tuesday February 8, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The sky is still pale pink, announcing a clear sunny day. The forecast says starting partly cloudy, but at least out my window the clouds have blown away. Today will be upper 40s and windy.
Yesterday: It was one of the shortest "clinic" days we've had. Even morning traffic wasn't "too" awful; and everyone was running on time. We were on our way home by noon, so had time in the afternoon to get some errands taken care of. We stopped to eat a very early dinner; and except for one load of laundry, both of us pretty much "crashed" for the evening! :)
Today: Today is a work day. This is another "Monday/Friday" week (another appointment Thursday). I hope I have some energy left over by tonight ... though since I'm not starting the day with any, I don't know where it'll come from! LOL!
Today is "Boy Scouts Day" ... "Laugh and Get Rich Day" ... "Extraterrestrial Culture Day (New Mexico)" ... "Culture Day (Slovenia)" ... "Needle Mass (Ha-ri-ku-yo - Japan)".

Good Morning! Sunday February 6, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! Even though we need more rain, after 2 days it's nice to have sunshine again. More rain is coming later in the week; they're even mentioning the possibility of more "winter weather". Today, though, will be "normal", low to mid 50s , bright and clear. It must be a bit breezy right now, the wind chimes are singing!
Yesterday: Wow, we worked really hard yesterday. Almost everything got moved out of the room I'm re-organizing. I did manage to leave pathways to walk in! LOL! Also, all but one of the "big" trees are upstairs ... and that last one has been redecorated for Valentines. Actually, quite a few decorations got done. More work got done upstairs, using wall space to hang what ever would work. It was a tiring but satistying day.
Today: I have just a few more things to move, but mostly today will be an "easy" day (because I'm still tired! LOL!) ... just the usual cleaning and laundry, getting ready for another busy week. :)

Everyone have a Great Sunday!
Today is "Super Bowl XLV" ... "Waitangi Day (New Zealand)".

Good Morning! Saturday February 5, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. We're still getting rain this morning. It's supposed to clear some by this afternoon, and get to the low 50s. It'll still be breezy though, so won't feel much warmer. I hope the weather report tonight indicates a significant change in the amount of rainfall needed now! LOL!
Yesterday: We had a busy day, although I got off to a slow start again. I braved the rain and got the rent paid and back to (a different) grocery store. Several "little" things got done at home ... putting up hooks, hanging up a mop/broom caddy, that sort of thing. Plus, I was able to move a lot of clutter around and take an old dresser upstairs for more storage.
Today: I'm still slow starting ... I just don't "do" morning any more! LOL!! But, I hope to finish moving stuff around in the room I'm trying to re-organize; and also, it's past time (to my sorrow!) to pack away the rest of Christmas. :)
Today is "Weatherperson's Day" ... "Constitution Day (Mexico)".
Quotes of the Day:
"There is only one thing a philosopher can be relied upon to do, and that is to contradict other philosophers."

Good Morning! Friday February 4, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. They've been saying lately we're in a drought situation, so a rainy morning is welcome. It'll be upper 30s today, and the "light" rain this morning will be progressively steady all day. I'd still rather have snow! LOL! But, we really need this rain; I hope we get enough to significantly lower the deficit (sp?).
Yesterday: I only had to work a half day, so got a few things done. I did get the oil changed, and did a (very small) bit of shopping while waiting. Then I went home, and got a lot done. The upstairs is fairly organized (there are a lot more boxes to go up, but at least I'll be able to find them). Two "big" trees and one smaller are now tucked away, plus a tote full of "tiny" trees. A few more decluttering and "ordinary" things done, plus a long conversation with a friend, and that's enough for a day. :)
Today: I'm not totally happy to have to go out on this rainy day; but the rent must be paid, and some other errands done. I hope by later this afternoon to get a start on my next "big" project - which will involve moving furniture around. I haven't yet figured out how to get to the "done" part while skipping the "doing" part! LOL!
Today is "American Dental Association Give Kids a Smile Program" ... "Bubble Gum Day" ... "National Wear Red Day" ... "Quacker Day" ... "Independence Day (Sri Lanka)" ... "Winterlude (Canada)".
Quotes of the Day:
"If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years."
-- Bertrand Russell
"Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you."
-- Carl Sandburg
"It still holds true that man is most uniquely human when he turns obstacles into opportunities."
-- Eric Hoffer

Good Morning! Thursday February 3, 2011
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's not clear, but not "dark and gloomy" either. It will be cloudy all day, but no rain expected until tomorrow. It'll also be low 40s, about a 30 degree drop from yesterday!
Yesterday: It was a work day, but I did manage to get to the grocery store on the way home. Dinner was "easy", finishing up the potato soup, "sliders" to finish up a bit of roast, and salad. Jimmy managed to go through a good size stack of tapes and DVDs ... although, he didn't cull out much! LOL! But, that little bit is neatly on the new shelves now. :)
Today: It's finally my half day! I hope to get the oil change done (not quite overdue, but will be soon if I can't get in there), and then work on the upstairs a bit. I have to finish organizing and stashing the boxes up there so I can start taking Christmas up. Even *I* can't get by with calling all of the trees Valentine trees! LOL!
Today is "Chinese New Year" ... "Four Chaplains Memorial Day" ... "Anniversary - "The Day the Music Died" ... "Bean Throwing Festival (Setsubun - Japan)" ... "Heroes' Day (Mozambique)".

Good Morning! Wednesday February 2, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. The blizzards that are crossing the northern part of the country are nowhere near me, but we are having very strange weather. The wind howled all night, and it's very dark, windy, and drippy this morning ... but today will go up to the low 70s! We might even get storms (thunder in winter = more snow coming?); but by afternoon it will still be cloudy and windy. I'm never sure I'm remembering the legend correctly ... but I don't believe the groundhog will see his shadow today. I think that means only 6 more weeks of winter? As opposed to a month and a half? LOL!
Yesterday: For a work day, with end of month reports, it was not a bad day; at least, I did not get "overwhelmed" ... ahh, retirement! LOL! Now I mostly only get the "easy" jobs. :) Last night I warmed up more potato soup for dinner; and (finally) put away a load of laundry. Now, if I can just figure out how I could possibly "lose" (misplace??) a bath towel and 2 matching handtowels!! Very strange.
Today: I work again today, so don't know what will get done at home. I will probably stop for groceries on the way home. We actually have a new grocery store, and at a quick check there seems to be not a huge amount of choices; but the basics they have are lower prices than the "usual" stores, making it worth a stop (and right on my way home!). :)
Today is "Candlemas (Catholic/Orthodox)" ... "Groundhog Day" ... "Groundhog Job Shadow Day" ... "Hedgehog Day" ... "National Girls and Women In Sports Day" ... "Presentation of the Lord Day (Catholic/Orthodox)" ... "Candlemas (Luxembourg)" ... "Dia De La Candelaria (Mexico)".
Quotes of the Day:
"A signature always reveals a man's character - and sometimes even his name."
-- Evan Esar
"Household tasks are easier and quicker when they are done by somebody else."
-- James Thorpe
"Enjoy present pleasures in such a way as not to injure future ones."

Good Morning! Tuesday February 1, 2011
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's very overcast this morning, and will be cloudy all day; but it will be warmer than yesterday, mid 50s. The huge storm threatening a large part of the country will by-pass us this time. Some rain would be helpful here, but the warmer bit is nice, though it won't last.
Yesterday: It ended up being a busy day, though as usual not the way I expected. I got laundry done, and a bit of decluttering done. A friend and I went to lunch, and checked out a new grocery store (lovey - cheaper items!). The furniture didn't come until 4:00, but we used the waiting time to clean out the refrigerator. Time to give up the science experiments! LOL! And then, the new pieces arrived. Oh my. Well, I never claimed to be good at *measuring*!!! So, we put in some quick time re-arranging ... it's much bigger than it looked in the store! It's wonderful though, so much more storage!! :)
Today: It's back to work today ... looks like I'll even work the whole (half) week for a change. That will almost feel strange after all this time. I know I have a project waiting, plus end-of-month reports, so I think the days will go pretty quickly. Tonight I hope, again, to work on the quilt project! :)
Today is "African-American Coaches Day" ... "Freedom Day" ... "Hula in the Coola Day" ... "Robinson Crusoe Day" ... "Working Naked Day".

Everyone have a Great Tuesday!
Quotes of the Day:
"It is pretty hard to tell what does bring happiness; poverty and wealth have both failed."

"Employ thy time well, if thou meanest to get leisure."

"I have a rock garden. Last week three of them died."
-- Richard Diran
"Computer dating is fine, if you’re a computer."
