Good Morning! Wednesday February 9, 2011

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's clear and bright, will be a lovely cool winter day. Mid 40s is on the low side of "normal"; but better than what's coming. We apparently have one more winter storm coming tomorrow, and then we can start really looking to spring. Well, I hope so anyway! :)
Yesterday: It was a pretty ordinary work day, nothng too dramatic. I managed to run an errand at lunch time. When I got home my new desk was here ... so finally, I can start putting the room back together! That will take much longer, as not everything is coming back into the room! LOL!!
Today: It's another work day. I'll have to go to Wal-Mart after work for some cards (picking them out would take too long for lunch time! LOL!). This evening it will be more of sifting things back into place, or getting rid of them. For me, the getting rid part is hard; but there's only so much room; and the "extra stuff" can't keep living in the rest of the house! LOL!

Today is "National Stop Bullying Day" ... "Anniversary - Beatles's Appearance Ed Sullivan Show".

Quotes of the Day:
"What we become depends on what we read after all of the professors have finished with us. The greatest university of all is a collection of books."
-- Thomas Carlyle

"The palest ink is better than the best memory."
-- Chinese Proverb

"There's no such thing as quitting. Just sometimes there's a longer pause between relapses."
-- Alan Moore

Today in history:
In 1900, the solid silver trophy known as the Davis Cup was first put up for competition when American collegian Dwight Filley Davis challenged British tennis players to compete against his Harvard team.

In 1960, the Hollywood Walk of Fame WAS instituted with Joanne Woodward honored with the first star.

In 1964, the Beatles appear on television's "The Ed Sullivan Show." An estimated 73 million people watched.

In 2008, the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis delivered a $2 billion science lab to the International Space Station, doubling the station's zero-gravity research capacity.
