Good Morning! Tuesday May 25, 2010

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still cloudy, and I think it might be all day; and maybe even the rest of the week. There are possibilities of showers, but it seems most of the rain is gone. Today will be warm again, close to 80. Yesterday it rained off and on most of the day ... the nice gentle kind of rain that soaks in. My yard is sooo happy! Some parts of it are too happy ... plants are taking over that need to be thinned out! LOL!
Due to an unexpected change of plans, today will be very busy. I have a block of time in which I hope to finish the "great kitchen floor project"; plus finishing the vacuuming, catch up laundry, and pack. I'll be going out of town, but will have my computer and hope to keep up with the newsletters. Today will also be for watering inside plants (they get jealous you know! LOL!), and some general prep work before leaving for several days.
Tonight, of course, is the Top 2, their last chance. I do hope I get to see the finale tomorrow night!!! :)

Today is "National Missing Children's Day" ... "National Tap Dance Day" ... "Poetry Day (Fla)" ... "African Freedom Day (Parts of Africa)" ... "Independence Day (Jordan)".

Quotes of the Day:
"I believe in an open mind, but not so open that your brains fall out."
-- Arthur Hays Sulzberger

"Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain - and most fools do."
-- Dale Carnegie

Today in history:
In 1787, the first regular session of the Constitutional Convention convened at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

In 1935, winding up his legendary career with the Boston Braves, Babe Ruth hit his 714th and last home run in his final game. The home run record stood for 39 years until Hank Aaron, also with the Braves, broke it in 1974.

In 1986, 5 million people formed a broken 4,000-mile human chain from Los Angeles to New York in Hands Across America, to benefit the nation's homeless. The event raised $24.5 million.
