Good Morning! Friday December 17, 2010

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's still overcast, and we may get some "left over" drizzle this morning. By this afternoon it should start clearing a bit, and get to the mid 40s. Yesterday morning's trace of snow quickly disappeared, and everything is just wet.
Yesterday: After work I delivered some fruit, and then made a real effort to accomplish some of my "to-do" list. I did manage to mark several things off; and considering it's a "comprehensive" list (meant to span about a week), it's a fair start. I just keep telling myself that! LOL!
Today: This is my last day at work before Christmas. The company is giving the employees a dinner today; so I expect by this afternoon I won't be in the proper frame of mind to accomplish much! LOL!
Christmas is 8 days from today!!!

Today is "Asarah B'Tevet (Jewish)" ... "Underdog Day" ... "Wright Brothers Day".

Quotes of the Day:
"What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?"
-- Henry David Thoreau

"Irrationally held truths may be more harmful than reasoned errors."
-- Thomas H. Huxley

"It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature".
-- Henry James

Today in history:
In 1790, the Aztec Calendar or Solar Stone was uncovered by workmen repairing Mexico City's Central Plaza.

In 1903, Orville Wright made history's first sustained airplane flight, lasting 12 seconds and covering 120 feet near Kitty Hawk, N.C. His brother Wilbur flew 852 feet later that day.
