Good Morning! Wednesday December 30, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. There looks to be a few clouds, but the forecast is for mostly sunny until later in the afternoon, but chilly. It's going to be mid 40s, and storms closing in perhaps tonight.

Tonight, I guess it's time to play catch up on a few cleaning and decluttering things around the house. I do like to greet the new year with a neat and tidy house if possible. New year???? Oh my, it took forever to get used to writing "09", and now I have to learn to write "10"! :)

Good Morning! Monday December 28, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The sky is still pale, but pink on the horizon. The forecast is for mostly sunny but cool, perhaps mid 40s. That's actually a bit cooler than "normal", but not so bad for December I think!
We had a lovely holiday weekend with the kids. I didn't get a lot of chances at the computer ... shared with 4 other people, especially the children. Our Christmas was wonderful, spent with some of the grands ... and they had a marvelous Christmas! :) Our DS and DDIL are both great cooks, so we were much too well fed over the weekend.
We got home early evening last night, and I got unpacked and laundry done ... and nothing else! LOL! I watched "Sound of Music" (yes, again!). Hopefully tonight I will get busy and get the house straightened up again. There are still some friends who may want to come by and see the deocrations (which will stay up until at least Jan. 6th).
There are 363 left until Christmas!!
Today is "Childermas/Holy Innocents Day" ... "Pledge of Allegiance Day" ... "Admission Day (Iowa)" ... "Holiday Breather Day" ... "Card Playing Day" ... "National Eat Chocolate Day".

Merry Christmas 2009
Good Morning! It's a WONDERFUL day! It's Christmas, and we are celebrating the birth of JESUS!!
We're at our son's house. We came up last night after I got off work. After a lovely steak dinner, we shared their church's "rotating communion", and finally got two excited children off to bed.
This morning they were up by 6:00 am! LOL! And now, they have plowed through an enormous pile of gifts, and are happily playing with new toys. All the other grown-ups have gone back to bed (since I sleep on the sofa, not an option - but I suspect I'll nap! LOL!)
I'm not taking time to check email, or to search out my "usual" morning sites. I just wanted to check in and wish all my friends a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Good Morning! Monday December 21, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's cold, but clear and bright. And it really IS winter now. :) Yesterday turned out to be a very nice day, not so very cold at all. I got all the things done I needed, and had a lovely visit with my sister (and a too short visit also with a niece). I've still got baking I want to get done ... need more cookies for grandsons! LOL!
Today is our department luncheon at work. I have my deviled eggs and brownies all ready and packed, and my swap gift. I just love it when we eat at work ... no lunch to pack! LOL! Tonight, hopefully, will get busy on some cookies.
There are 3 days left until Christmas!!
Today is "Crossword Puzzle Day" ... "Forefathers' Day" ... "Humbug Day" ... "National Haiku Poetry Day" ... "Phileas Fogg Wins a Wager Day" ... "Winter Begins (Northern Hemisphere)" ... "World Peace Day/Winter Solstice" ... "Summer Begins (Southern Hemisphere)".

Good Morning! Sunday December 20, 2009
Good morning! It's a gorgeous morning! It's clear and the sun shining brightly. It's cold ... but after all, it's "officially" winter tomorrow. I do hope all my friends are in nice warm houses!!
Yesterday was productive to the point that I *think* I have all shopping finished (except a few groceries, but there'll always be "just one or two more things" that I forgot at the grocery store! LOL!). I didn't get a lot else done, because I spent way too long in one store, just wishing and drooling. :) It was a lot of fun.
Today I have a few of those boring things to catch up, a tiny bit more baking I want to do, and some gift wrapping. Then, I hope to ride out to my sister's house to deliver some gifts. I hope someone will be home! :) And tonight, I have a few things to do for taking to work tomorrow for a department party.
There are 4 days left until Christmas!!

Good Morning! Saturday December 19, 2009
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. Even though I'm not where I had hoped to be, I know I'm where I'm supposed to be. We didn't get any snow here. It's still gray and windy this morning, and I'm sure it's pretty chilly out. But, my roads aren't icy.
Yesterday was a lovely combination and lazy and productive. I'm glad I took the vacation day, it was worthwhile. I got the last batch of cookies made, a sewing project completed and another more than half done (until the bobbin ran out! LOL!), several small gift items completed. I also got some "ordinary" stuff done ... cleaning, decluttering, laundry. Boring but necessary! LOL!
Today, since the roads are fine, I'll go do a few last minute errands and some (yuck) grocery shopping!
There are 5 days left until Christmas!!
Today is "UN Day For South-South Cooperation" ... "Anniversary - Christmas Greeting From Space".

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's cold and gray ... but not (yet) raining, and I'm home! LOL! I took a vacation day in anticipation of visiting family this weekend. Unfortunately, the weather forecast is not condusive to traveling west in NC. So, I'm going to take advantage of today and get caught up on some things. There are cookies to bake, gifts to wrap, trees to finish trimming ... just lots and lots of things that need to get done. I'm thinking (maybe a mistake? LOL!) if I can finish all of these things today and tomorrow, perhaps by Sunday I can go deliver a few things. First, I have to get myself past this morning dose of lazy. :)

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear, and with a frost on the ground that is all white and sparkly and pretty. They're telling us a storm is coming in tomorrow ... *could* be the "S" word! LOL! It's very much wait and see how it works out.

Good Morning! Wednesday December 16, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The sky is pale gold, and though there will be some clouds, we may also see some sunshine today. It'll be right around 50, a bit chilly (but hopefully not inside the office! LOL!), and no rain for a few days.
Last night the Christmas caroling was a LOT of fun. It's a shame more people don't bother to show up. There were only 5 of us from work, but with family and friends, so we ended up with a pretty good group. I know all the people we sang to really enjoyed it - they smiled and clapped and sang along! Afterward, the boss treated us to pizza ... also fun! :) After the "party" ended, my friend from work (that my young friend I took with me and I rode with) took us on a mini-tour of Christmas lights in town (Dunn). It was lovely, and we so enjoyed that!
Tonight, wow, I really have to get busy, so much I need to finish doing before the weekend.
For those who have asked (and those who haven't! LOL!), here is where to find pictures of my decorated house:

Good Morning! Tuesday December 15, 2009
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. At least, I think it is ...somewhere under all that fog! LOL! It may rain this morning, but should be clearing by this afternoon, and going to around 60. That will make it a lovely night to go caroling!
Last night I got more done that I expected, just not *what* I expected. I meant to bake more cookies, but DH used the oven to cook dinner (turkey breast - yum!); so the cookies will wait until tomorrow night. I also got a bit of progress made on one more "last minute" gift ... which I sure need to finish and get mailed! LOL! I got a few other decluttering things done.
I also watched a new show. I think it was "Sing Along" or something like that. It was a contest for accapello groups (I have NO idea how to spell that! LOL!), and they were very good. It continues tonight, so I will miss it; but it was nice entertainment. Tonight, as I said, some people from the office are going caroling. We've been doing this for years now, going to the homes of some of our shut-in patients, and to some nursing homes. It's a lot of fun and I look forward to it every year.

Good Morning! Sunday December 13, 2009
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! The rain started last night, but it seems to be the slow drippy kind, for now at least. It's not cold enough to snow (sad but normal), so there will be no outside stuff for today. But, we got done what was most needed yesterday, and the rest will wait for next year! LOL! We also did some shopping (groceries, and 3 Christmas gifts taken care of), and then baked cookies; watched a Christmas movie; and best of all, a friend from work came by to see the house. We had a lovely little visit.
Today will be more cookie baking, more Christmas movies ... and possibly more friends drop by. I love it! :)

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! Well, it's cold and gray - but it's Saturday, and I didn't have to get up early. :) The forecast is for upper 40s and cloudy, and rain by tonight or tomorrow. I do have one outside item I hope to finish today; otherwise, I'll stay in.
Last night we went to a friend's for supper, then rode around to look at lights. We saw lots of amazing homes; but also saw a lot that weren't decorated. Since I start so early, I seem to expect everyone else to also. Oops. LOL!!

Good Morning! Thursday December 10, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! The forecast says cloudy to start and then sunny; but I can already see brightness beyond the edge of cloud cover. It will be pretty chilly ... upper 40s. But it IS December! LOL! I admit, I wouldn't mind some snow too. But inches .. not feet!! Since that's rare for NC in December, I'll just have to be patient. But I've saved some vacation days ... just in case! :)
Last night I got some laundry done, and a little (very little) bit of decluttering. Tonight I'm going to push myself to get a few more things done, as well as get the weekend lined up. Good Morning! Monday December 7, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's starting out bright and only a few clouds, though more will be coming in. Highs around 50 today make it a pretty normal December day; more rain by tomorrow probably.
Yesterday was a great day! Not only did my nieces come to visit, but my sister and her whole family! I loved every minute ... my only "regret" was that no one was able to stay late enough to see my lights come on. And, a Huge thank you to my BIL, who helped with several of the outdoor things. I might have gotten done - eventually - but his help meant it all got done before dark! YAY!
The house is clean and (mostly) decorated. Laundry is caught up. Dishes are done (but one that has to soak). Tonight ... I think I'll just do nothing! LOL!
There are 17 days left until Christmas!
Today is "Pearl Harbor Day" ... "UN International Civil Aviation Day" ... "National Cotton Candy Day".
Quotes of the Day:
"Idleness is not doing nothing. Idleness is being free to do anything."

Good Morning! Sunday December 6, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! All of yesterday's clouds have gone away. It will be pretty chilly - probably upper 40s - but the sun is shining! It will be a good day for getting that silly tree upright, and for doing the finishing touches to the outside. I also have company coming (YAY!!), so a few little things to do inside - like clearing clutter so there's a place to sit down! LOL!
Yesterday we braved the weather and went to the parade. It was a lot of fun. There was not a big crowd (not only watching the parade, but also on the floats - a few were even completely empty! Sad!), but the bands were great, the queens and princesses smiled and waved (and so did the politicians), the clowns were funny, the cars were loud .... it was everything a Christmas parade should be! In the last few minutes, it did start to rain a bit, but not too hard, and we were very near the end of the route.
After the parade we did some shopping ... and came home really tired! LOL! But, a good night's rest, and I'm ready to start over today.
There are 18 days left until Christmas!
Today is "Miner's Day" ... "National Pawnbrokers Day" ... "Saint Nicholas Day" ... "Constitution Day (Spain)" ... "Independence Day (Finland)".

Good Morning! Saturday December 5, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! Well, ok, it's chilly and damp ... but the early rain has stopped, so the day still may not be a complete wash out! LOL! In December, well, you pretty much take your chances day by day. It's all good - we need the rain too.
Last night we decided at the last minute to go to the Benson parade. As parades go, this one is sort of ... um ... wimpy! LOL! It lasted barely over half an hour ... and that included be interrupted by THREE trains! But, I met up with a friend from work, and it was fun anyway. Afterward we went to our favorite place to eat ... and found out that a LOT of parade-goers had also discovered it. We've never seen such a crowd; but the food was just as good as always. From where we were seated, I could watch the guy in the kitchen making pizza dough - fascinating!
Today we're going into Dunn. Whether or not we see the parade may depend on just how hard it's raining at the time. It may be an interesting day! :)
There are 19 days left until Christmas!
Today is "Bathtub Party Day" ... "Coats and Toys for Kids Day" ... "UN International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development" ... Good Morning! Friday December 4, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It will be chilly, mid 50s today, and clouds moving in as a storm builds for tomorrow. I was hoping for a better forecast for tomorrow; but it changes often, so maybe it won't be too bad! LOL!
Tonight I'm thinking about going to a parade. The one tonight, in years past, has been quite unimpressive ... but even a mediocre parade is better than none, right? :) I probably won't decide on the parade tomorrow until the last minute. Of course, the one tonight will be "last minute" too ... barely have time to get home from work, get DH, and get back into town!
I may change my mind again at the last minute. I've been known to do that! LOL!
There are 20 days left until Christmas!
Today is "National Dice Day" ... "Saint Barbara's Day".

Good Morning! Thursday December 3, 2009
Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. Yesterday we had lots of storms move through, lots of wind and rain. Today the "front" has moved across, and left us a lovely late fall day. It will be around 60, mostly sunny, breezy - a very nice day indeed!
I did get a few things done last night. I put the finishing touches on a few small gifts, and some decluttering here and there. I still have some tree decorating to do, but I think that will be done over the weekend. For anyone who lives close enough to me, by next week my house will be "open" for anyone who'd like to visit. I'm thinking one weekend (as soon as I find out which weekend I'll be home) I'll have a more "formal" open house, and maybe request donations for the local food pantry. I still have sewing and baking to do ...
There are 21 days left until Christmas!
Today is "UN International Day of the Disabled Person" ... "Admission Day (Illinois)".

Good Morning! Wednesday December 2, 2009
Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. The rain is back, it's gray and wet and chilly (might even get storms later) ... but it's December, so it's ok! LOL! I do rather hope it won't rain Saturday (for the Christmas parade, one of the few I'll actually get to go to). It's sort of hard to guess, as the forecasts have been so up and down, and changing almost hourly. Well, it is what it is. :)
I did get laundry done last night, and wrote some overdue letters. But not much else. I'm beginning to think I'll have bare trees this year! LOL! Well, they're up, have some decorations, have lights ... and are pretty. I guess I won't worry over much about the rest, just do what I can. I do need to move on to other things.

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning! It's bright and clear and cool, to be upper 50s ... just what December ought to be. Oh my! How did it get to be December already??? LOL!
Last night I didn't get a lot done. I keep planning to get back to some sewing, but get distracted. I did put together a wreath to take to my cubby at work. It's not quite what I wanted ... but close enough. :)
