Good Morning! Monday March 1, 2010

Good morning! It's a gorgeous morning. It's bright and clear, and will warm up to mid 50s today. But then, they're saying clouds start rolling in this afternoon, rain tomorrow, maybe even snow by tomorrow night. Looks like it might be another "north of me only" event, if it happens. That's ok too now - it's March! :)
In the end, I got a lot done yesterday. Everything "Christmas" (except the one tree I'm having trouble making myself take down! LOL!) is upstairs, mostly in boxes, all neatly labeled and on a master list. My kitchen is mostly neat and organized (a few "trouble spots" I still need to tackle). Laundry - 2 more loads yesterday - is all caught up. Now all I have to do is get my mornings organized so I don't run late every day! LOL!
Tonight is business class; but after tonight I'm ready to get back into a sewing project!

Today is "National Pig Day" ... "Plan a Solo Vacation Day " ... "Refired, Not Retired Day " ... "Anniversary - Land Mine Ban " ... "Admission Day (Nebraska) " ... "Admission Day (Ohio) " ... "Beer Day (Iceland) " ... "Independence Day (Bosnia/Herzegovina) " ... "St. David's Day (Wales)".

Quotes of the Day:
"I shot an arrow into the air, and it stuck."
-- Graffito, in Los Angeles

"It is better to wear out than to rust out."
-- Bishop Richard Cumberland

Today in history:
In 1781, the American colonies adopted the Articles of Confederation, paving the way for a federal union.

In 1803, Ohio was admitted to the union as the 17th state.

In 1867, Nebraska was admitted to the union as the 37th state.

In 1872, Yellowstone National Park was established by an act of Congress. It was the first area in the world to be designated a national park.

In 1961, U.S. President John Kennedy formed the Peace Corps.

In 2000, in a rare unanimous vote, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill to allow most Social Security recipients to earn as much money as they want without losing any benefits.
