Idol Watching, Top 11

Guest mentor, Miley Cyrus. She's cute and all, but I'm not all that much a huge fan.

Up first, Lee, "The Letter". I liked him ok, better than before; not a performance I would vote for. The judges seem to like him .. well, except Simon of course.

Second, Paige, "Against All Odds". She sings too soft, voice (pitch?) wobbly - didn't really get better when she got stronger. Definately would not vote for this (though she was so good last week). Unless someone else really blows it, I think she's gone. All the judges agreed.

Third up, Tim, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". Nice, not great. Reminds me of what Simon keeps calling "lounge singer" a bit. I won't vote here, at least not tonight. The girls seem to like him. I agree with the judges on this one.

Fourth, Aaron, "Don't Want To Miss A Thing". He's just a child, and I didn't want to like him .. but this was the best so far tonight. Good job! The judges mostly agreed ... even sour Simon. (not kind of Ryan to call him "David Archeletta" though).

Fifth, Crystal, "Bobby McGee". I just flat love her. That's all. She's great, (and one of my favorite songs as well), this was vote-worthy for me! OK, I agree with Ellen (hard for me to do because I don't like her) about stoicism; looking forward to more from her. Even Simon liked her! Wow! (and the rug bit was funny).

Sixth up, Mike, "When a Man Loves a Woman". He is just so terrific ... what a hard choice between him and Crystal! He's phenominal ... just going by tonight, he's a very close 2nd place to her. He gives me chills! I totally don't agree with the judges on this one.

Seventh, Andrew, "Heard It Through The Grapevine". I'm not crazy about him. This I would not vote for at all. I'm not sure if it's the singing or the arangement, but it's just not good to me. I agree with the judges, and think this may give Paige a chance to stay.

Eighth up, Katie, "Big Girls Don't Cry". I've not been especially her fan, but I thought she was good tonight. I'm not sure I agree with the judges, but she was good tonight. And she is cute.

Ninth, Casey, "Power of Love". OK, I think this guy is my 3rd top favorite so far. I like his singing; and I just like him, something appealing. In a grandmotherly sort of way. LOL! Yep, I could vote for this one tonight. The judges liked him ... except I think Simon is on crack or something.

Tenth up, Didi, "You're No Good". She's not bad, but sounded a little "off" to me, kind of flat in places. Maybe pitchy .. not even sure what that means. I like her voice, but I just didn't like this so much. I agree with the judges, but don't think she was the worst tonight.

Lat one up, Siobhan, "Superstition". She's good, though not one of my favorites. I did not at all like her "look" tonight, especially the hair. Yeah, it's not a "beauty contest", but she looks weird. She can sing, but I wouldn't vote for her. A little too shrieky, especially the end. The judges liked her better than I did (except Simon of course).

OK, over all, for me tonight, Crystal first; Mike second; Casey third; either Paige or Andrew going home.

JMHO. :)
