Good Morning! Friday January 21, 2011

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's bright and clear for now, with clouds expected later tonight. It will be low 40s and windy, making it a cold and blustery day.
Yesterday: It was a relatively "easy" day for a work day. I got caught up with what I needed to do, and that even included having a 2 hour lunch for a hair appointment. After work I picked up my niece, and on the way home we stopped by the grocery store and KFC. I didn't get anything done at home, so will have to get busy tonight and in the morning.
Today: It's yet another clinic day. There are 2 appointments today; but they're in the afternoon (which means, as usual, getting that rush hour traffic coming home). I'm hoping before the appointments we have time to meet up with a friend who works at Duke. :)

Today is "International Fetish Day" ... "National Hugging Day".

Quotes of the Day:
"Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself. "
-- William Faulkner

"Shared laughter creates a bond of friendships. When people laugh together, they cease to be young and old, teacher and pupils, worker and boss. They become a single group of human beings."
-- W. Lee Grant

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy."
-- Ernest Benn

Today in history:
In 1954, the world's first atomic-powered submarine, the Nautilus, was launched at Groton, Conn.

In 1976, the supersonic Concorde airplane was put into service by Britain and France.
