Good Morning! Thursday April 21, 2011

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. Although the forecast says starting out cloudy, there is bright sunlight pouring in my window. It won't be as hot as yesterday, only mid 70s. With an afternoon breeze, it should be a wonderful spring day.
Yesterday: It was a really busy day. The temps reached the upper 80s, so it was hot working in the garden; but most of the day was also breezy, which helped. We got a lot of progress made ... another raised bed planted, 2 more ready to go, and another area about a third weeded and ready. Everything outside got a good watering also, which was good since the rain never showed up! :) We also rode into town for a "miniature retail therapy fix" (had to replace a planter sign that the storm sent away - probably to Kansas! LOL!), and hit the grocery store. Last night I managed to stay awake long enough to cheer Scotty (AI) on again! :)
Today: I am rushing this morning! Besides being a dialysis and work day, I have an early hair appointment. Hopefully by tonight I will get some chores done that are overdue now. And hoping the cuts and blisters on my fingers are enough bsetter to get back to my sewing project that is so nearly done! :)

Today is "Kindergarten Day" ... "Holy Thursday" ... "Maundy Thursday" ... "National High Five Day" ... "National Teach Children to Save Day" ... "San Jacinto Day (Tx)" ... "Birthday of Rome (Italy)".

Quotes of the Day:
"The best way to keep children home is to make the home atmosphere pleasant--and let the air out of the tires."
-- Dorothy Parker

"I have long been of the opinion that if work were such a splendid thing the rich would have kept more of it for themselves."
-- Bruce Grocott

"If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there and worrying. It's the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep".
-- Dale Carnegie

Today in history:
