Good Morning! Monday September 28, 2009

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The sun is shining so brightly that I can't see anything (hmmm ... might be time to clean the window!). Today will be mid 80s, and mostly sunny. There might be clouds moving in by this afternoon, and maybe even a shower. It's that crazy time of year, anything can happen; but mostly we have warm days and cool nights, and everything is in gorgeous glowing color!
I did not get cleaning done yesterday, but I did get a lot of sewing done. I completed one project, and made a lot of progress on another. I also got a batch of cookies in the freezer. All in all, it was a restful day, and I even got to bed early.
Tonight, after the grocery store, I hope I can continue to make progress on several projects ... time is running short for them to be done! :)

Today is "Family Day - A Day To Eat Dinner With Your Children" ... "National Good Neighbor Day" ... "UN World Maritime Day" ... "Cabrillo Day (Ca)" ... "Birthday of Confucius/Teacher's Day (Taiwan)".
Quotes of the Day:
"[M]aybe the most any of us can expect of ourselves isn't perfection but progress."
-- Michelle Burford

"Democracy is the recurrent suspicion that more than half of the people are right more than half the time."
-- E. B. White

Today in history:
In 490 B.C., the Greeks defeated the Persians at Marathon. A Greek soldier named Phidippides ran more than 26 miles to tell Athenians of the victory and died after his announcement. His feat provided the model for the modern marathon race.

In 1892, Mansfield University was the home team for the first night football game at Smythe Park in Mansfield, Pa.

Today's birthdays include
