Good Morning! Monday August 16, 2010

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. It's bright and clear out, and will be mid to upper 90s today. It'll be humid, and a chance of afternoon storms; but mostly north, so we likely won't get any rain. I thought my plants might get watered over the weekend, but that didn't work out ... so tonight I have to untangle hoses and get the sprinkler going!
Yesterday was a nice day other than too much riding in the car. We stayed with family until early afternoon before heading home. We made one quick stop at a Farmer's Market (fresh corn, and some more water plants for the fish pond. We seem to have gourmet fish!!), and were home by late afternoon (including a grocery stop). I got the car unloaded, the groceries put away ... and that's all! LOL! My son & family got there later in the evening to bring our grandson for a visit. We ate dinner (deli chicken - no cooking!) before they had to go home. We get to have Alex visit for a whole week! Yay!
I don't know what's on schedule for tonight. If I get my chair seats, I'll start on those. I'll be doing laundry for sure.
I apologize, but there are no historic events or birthdays today. My "usual" source has ... again ... forgotten to turn the calendar page. I occasionally look back to last year; but this time last year I was out of town for my parent's anniversary, and had no internet access. So, hopefully, the usual will be back by tomorrow. :)

Today is "Joe Miller's Joke Day" ... "Anniversary - Harmonic Convergence" ... "Anniversary - Elvis Presley's Death"

Quotes of the Day:
"None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into the office."
-- Robert Frost

"There is only one real deprivation, I decided this morning, and that is not to be able to give one's gifts to those one loves most."
-- May Sarton

"Democracy means that anyone can grow up to be president, and anyone who doesn't grow up can be vice president."
-- Johnny Carson

Everyone have a Great Monday!
