Good Morning! Monday August 9, 2010

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. When I first looked out, there was a delicate pink mist. There's still a touch of mist, but it's fading quickly, and bright out now. It'll be mid to upper 90s again; partly cloudy, but not a single word about chances of any rain.
Nothing about the weekend turned out like I expected; but it was all good anyway. Even though Saturday was very tiring and hot, we did enjoy the trip and were glad we could help out with the planting. Then yesterday we got an unexpected call to have 2 of the grands here for 2 days. (plans they had fell through at the last minute) We're tickled to have them of course. I didn't get all the things done over the weekend I hoped to ... but having the children here is SO much better! LOL! Even the kitten doesn't seem to object (which is pretty amazing considering Alex has been carrying her around ever since he got here!).
Today Jimmy is taking them to visit his sister, and to McD's for lunch. Tonight they'll probably want to play games (and they have reading to do). I, of course, have to work ... but only 15 more Mondays! LOL!

Today is "Nagasaki Day" ... "Perseid Meteor Showers" ... "UN International Day of the World's Indigenous People" ..."Veep Day" ... "Victory Day (Rhode Island)" ... "Moment of Silence (Japan)" ... "National Day (Singapore)" ... "National Women's Day (South Africa)".

Quotes of the Day:
"There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self."
-- Aldous Huxley

"People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves."
-- Salma Hayek
