Good Morning! Tuesday July 13, 2010

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's mistly again this morning, and may be a touch "cooler" today - upper 80s. Wow, no 90s? It will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers. We had a pretty good storm yesterday evening; and though we could use a lot more, it was a really good long shower. I'm hoping we get more today ... my garden already looks happier!
Last night we had some minor (at least, hope it was! LOL!) car trouble. Messing around with that pretty much took up the evening. I did manage to locate one of the sets of paperwork I've been looking for. YAY! I don't even know what I'll try to do tonight - continue the paperwork search; or start the "small project"; or do some sewing; or maybe just read! :)

Today is "Embrace Your Geekness Day" ... "Gruntled Workers Day" ... "Feast of Lanterns (Japan)".

Quotes of the Day:
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."
-- Pablo Picasso

"If all the world's a stage, I want to operate the trap door."
-- Paul Beatty

"Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what's for lunch."
-- Orson Welles

Inspirational Joy for the Day:
If you love something, set it free.
If it comes back to you, it is yours.
If it doesn't, it never was.

Today in history:
In 1919, The British airship R34 lands in Norfolk, England, completing the first airship return journey across the Atlantic in 182 hours of flight.

In 1923, The Hollywood Sign is officially dedicated in the hills above Hollywood, Los Angeles. It originally reads "Hollywoodland " but the four last letters are dropped after renovation in 1949.

In 1985, The Live Aid benefit concert takes place in London and Philadelphia, as well as other venues such as Sydney and Moscow
