Good Morning! Sunday July 18, 2010

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. The forecast for today is partly cloudy, but at the moment it's quite bright out. They say low 90s and a chance of afternoon storms. Yesterday it stayed cloudy all day; but by mid afternoon it was very dark, and by late afternoon we got wonderful storms! I heard on the news some places had wind damage, but it didn't get that bad here. We had some thunder and lightening, and RAIN! Not enough, of course, but a lot just the same. I've already lost some things in the garden ... watering is never enough ... but hopefully everything else will perk up now. A possibility of more this afternoon is good too.
Yesterday didn't go at all like I thought ... which I'm sure comes as no surprise to anyone! LOL! My "cleaning schedule" got put on a back-burner ... just too hot to deal with. We were just ready to leave for some errands when a lady showed up, just begging to let her demonstrate a vacuum. So, OK, I get 2 rooms of carpets vacuumed for free. Of course, I'm NOT buying a Kirby. No matter how good they are (and they really are GOOD), they're not worth $1400!!!! Just before she left, the electrician finally showed up. After some initial exploration, he announced that he would have to go under the house to do some wiring ... and he will not do that until the landlord sprays under there for spiders!!! Eeewwww ... don't blame him! LOL! So, at the very least a few more days with everything out of place and no a/c in th den. We did finally get out, take trash to the dump, and run some errands. We stopped at Wendy's for a salad, and that was it for the day. I didn't even get to work on my project, but hoping for that today. :)

Today is "Anne Hutchinson Memorial Day" ... "National Ice Cream Day" ... "Constitution Day (Uruguay)".

Quotes of the Day:
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
-- Walt Disney

"Never stand begging for that which you have the power to earn."
-- Miguel de Cervantes

***
"One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action and filled with noble risks, is worth whole years of those mean observances of petty decorum, in which men steal through existence, like sluggish waters through a marsh, without either honor or observation."
--Sir Walter Scott
