Good Morning! Friday August 21, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful Friday morning! There's still the "usual" (lately) morning overcast and mist, that will burn off quickly. It may be "cooler" today ... only low 90s! LOL! And, a better chance of those afternoon storms. I'm still hoping for some rain.
Last night I got one more step done on one of my bigger projects. Hopefully, tonight I'll do better - though being Friday, I may do nothing! LOL!

Today is "National Men's Grooming Day" ... "Poet's Day" ... "Admission Day (Hawaii)".

Quotes of the Day:
"When I took office, only high energy physicists had ever heard of what is called the Worldwide Web.... Now even my cat has its own page. "
-- Bill Clinton

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails. "
-- Henry David Thoreau

In 1935, Benny Goodman's nationally broadcast concert at Los Angeles' Palomar Theater was such a hit that it often has been referred to as the kickoff of the swing era.

In 1959, Hawaii became the 50th state.

- Jazz great William Count Basie in 1904
