Good Morning! Sunday August 23, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning. The weather feels a touch fall-like this morning - cool and misty still. Even though it's not been all that hot as summers go, I am looking forward to fall. That's my favorite time of year! I just love October especially ... the weather, the colors, just everything. For today, they're saying upper 80s, parly cloudy, maybe a storm. Yesterday was quite warm (I think low 90s) ... and we got rain!! YAY!! :) We got a lot of rain, as several big storms moved across the area. I was out running errands with a friend, and got "caught" in one deluge. We waited out the heaviest of it in a store (a new second-hand store, quite nice! That was fun; and I resisted most of the Christmas stuff!), but still got soaked getting back to the car. It was hot enough to dry quickly though. Off and on the rest of the afternoon and into the evening there were more storms, more rain - complete with thunder and lightening! But also, late afternoon (between bouts of storming), we saw the most Gorgeous rainbow! It was just stunning, the whole thing (not just one faded end), quite clear and bright. That is such a lovely and encouraging sign, God's promise to us that all will be well!
Of course I didn't get as much done as I hoped yesterday. I thought I was "done" ... then started noticing things that I still needed to do. So, hopefully, all will be finished today. And I did get some work done on a sewing project last night (while the computer was unplugged and the satelite was "out"!).

Today is "UN International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition" ... "Anniversary - First Man Powered Flight" ... "Valentino Day".
