Good Morning! Monday August 24, 2009

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning. It's foggy, but hopefully that will burn off soon. Fog is beautiful in an eerie way ... unless you have to drive in it! LOL! The forecast for today is upper 80s; where I am is usually a bit warmer, so maybe around 90. Again, there's a chance of afternoon storms. We had more again yesterday ... not as strong as Saturday, but still a lot of rain. My yard is so happy ... especially the weeds! LOL!
I didn't finish all that I planned to do, but enough of it that I don't feel terribly "behind schedule". A friend and I went to a flea market yesterday, and had a lot of fun just looking around. We came back here ... luckily before the storm ... and watched TV and cooked dinner together. It was a fun day.
Tonight, I have more sewing to do!!

Today is "Saint Bartholomew's Day" ... "Flag Day (Liberia)" ... "Independence Day (Ukraine)" ... "Vesuvius Day (Italy)".

Quotes of the Day:
"Spare no expense to save money on this one."
-- Samuel Goldwyn

"There are two ways to pass a hurdle: leaping over or plowing through... There needs to be a monster truck option.
-- Jeph Jacques

In 1932, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly non-stop across the United States.

Host China captured the most gold medals, 51, and was second in the overall category, at 100.
