Good Morning! Thursday August 6, 2009

Good morning! It's a wonderful morning! It rained last night, and everything is fresh and clean this morning. Actually, it stormed. A lot! LOL! But, we got lots of rain. It's so dry here, by morning it's all soaked in already; but it's much cooler this morning.
I worked on pinning some hems last night, and watched Dance. Tonight is the "finale". I don't usually watch the results show, but since my "regular" shows are all reruns, I might. I really like Evan; but since I don't vote, I don't really care who wins. Still, maybe I'll watch. :)

Today is "National Fresh Breath Day" ... "Anniversary - Hiroshima Day" ... "Anniversary - Voting Rights Act of 1965 Signed" ... "Independence Day (Bolivia)" ... "Peace Festival (Japan)".

Quotes of the Day:
"Those who don't know how to weep with their whole heart, don't know how to laugh either. "
-- Golda Meir

"Nice guys finish last, but we get to sleep in. "
-- Evan Davis

Today in history:
In 1926, Gertrude Ederle of New York became the first American to swim the English Channel.

In 1996, NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin announced the discovery of evidence of a primitive life form on Mars.
